Newborn baby has a hair in his eye

There may be fetal hair in the eyes of newborn babies. When fetal hair falls into the baby's eyes, it needs to be removed in time, otherwise it will easily cause inflammation of the eyes. In severe cases, it may also have a certain impact on the baby's vision development. Because the baby's eyelids are very thin, redness and swelling may occur easily if they are repeatedly stimulated. If it really doesn't work, parents can take the baby to the ophthalmology department of the hospital and ask the doctor to remove it.

1. Remove the hair from your baby’s eyes

1. If a small piece of your own hair gets stuck in the eye of a baby who is just half a month old, it is best to drop breast milk into the baby's eye to lubricate it and make it easier for the hair to flow out. 2. If necessary, use a cotton swab to gently dip it out while the child is sleeping. Don't hurt the child.

3. Rub the paper towel into a very thin piece like a cotton swab, dip the paper towel in warm water and lightly touch it to get it out.

4. Actually you don’t have to worry about it, sometimes he will just cry and it will come out.

5. It is recommended to go to an ophthalmologist in time and the doctor will take it out for the baby.

6. You can use a sterilized cotton swab to wipe it out, or you can wash your eyes with saline.

2. How to remove foreign matter from baby's eyes

1. Never let your baby rub his eyes. This is very dangerous. Rubbing the eyes may rub small foreign objects into the cornea or scratch the cornea, leading to infection. So first of all, you should hold your baby's hands and don't let him rub his eyes.

2. Secure the baby's head to prevent it from moving. You can use your hands to gently hold your baby's head to facilitate cleaning. Tilt your baby's head toward the side where the foreign object is lodged. If a foreign object enters the left eye, the head should tilt to the left.

3. Prepare a bowl of clean cold boiled water (cold water that has been boiled) or mineral water, and use a spoon to scoop water to rinse your eyes.

4. Use a spoon of water to rinse the injured eyes for about 5 minutes, but do not use tap water, which may cause bacterial infection. If chemicals such as lime enter the eyes, rinse them immediately with cool boiled water for 30 minutes. When rinsing, make sure the injured eye is at the bottom to prevent the chemicals from flowing into the other eye.

5. After rinsing, let your baby close his eyes and let the tears flow out. If it is a chemical, let your baby close his eyes and cover them with sterile gauze, then go to the hospital immediately for treatment (and bring the chemical with you so that the doctor can prescribe the right medicine).

6. If there is no cold boiled water and spoon outside, parents can gently pinch the baby's upper eyelid with their thumb and index finger and lift it forward, and gently exhale into the baby's eyes to stimulate the eyes to produce tears and flush out the sand and dust.

7. You can also let the baby look up, and parents can use their fingers to gently pull up the lower eyelid to look for foreign objects. If there is no foreign object, then open the upper eyelid to look for it. After finding the foreign object, use a wet cotton swab to gently remove it.
