What to do if your fingernails are inflamed

What to do if your fingernails are inflamed

People think that nails are very hard, but in fact, nails are also very fragile. The soft flesh under the fingernails is the most fragile and sensitive part of the hand. Some people find that their fingernails are inflamed, causing part of the skin on their hands to become red and swollen, and sometimes itchy or painful. If your fingernails are inflamed, you should first disinfect them, and then receive specific treatment based on the severity of the inflammation. So, what should you do if your fingernails are inflamed?

1. The location and specific circumstances of inflammation. If it is inflammation of the muscle tissue around the nail. Is there any redness or swelling? You can disinfect it with iodine first, which usually works after doing it several times. You don't need to go to the hospital for treatment. You can always keep iodine, gentian violet or mercurochrome, cotton swabs, etc. at home so that you can disinfect and reduce inflammation when needed.

2. If the condition is serious or toxins have entered the skin, it is best to go to the hospital and ask a doctor for treatment. You may also need injections and medication. Don't get it dirty with water or other stuff. Be careful not to get a manicure if your skin is prone to allergies or is sensitive, so as to avoid discomfort, infection and poisoning. It is contraindicated for people with allergies.

3. If the nails become inflamed, remove the paint on the surface immediately. Clean your fingers and nails. Wash with soap or medicated soap, then disinfect with alcohol or iodine. Usually it is not serious and can be treated well. If the redness and swelling are severe or cause nail inflammation or abscess, it is better to go to the hospital for treatment.

Note:

When nails become inflamed after a manicure, it is usually due to a problem with the product or because the nails themselves are fragile and have allergic reactions. So it is best not to get a manicure, especially if your nails or surrounding skin are damaged. If you are in poor health, it will be reflected in your nails, so it is better to be cautious when doing manicures. For example, the nail cap is fragile and easy to break, and it is also sensitive to manicures and easily caused damage. If there are any damages, you should be more careful as it may cause infection and inflammation. To treat inflammation, you can use iodine at home. If the inflammation is serious, you need to go to the hospital for treatment.
