What is the difference between sweat steaming and dry steaming?

In our lives, there are many ways to help us stay healthy. Take bathing as an example. Traditional bathing is nothing more than flushing with water, but nowadays, bathing includes many items, such as sweat steaming, sauna and so on. Some young people, in particular, seem to prefer steam bathing to saunas, mainly because steam bathing allows them to do many things at the same time. So, what is the difference between sweat steaming and dry steaming?

There are two types of sweat steaming: dry steaming and wet steaming. There is a huge difference between the two, and their effects are also different. The temperature of dry steaming is relatively high, but the skin will be drier after steaming. The wet steaming temperature is slightly lower and has a better effect on the skin.

Dry Steaming

It is said that dry steam is the authentic sauna. Dry steaming uses a device similar to an electric stove used for hot pot to directly convert electrical energy into thermal energy. The hot air does not contain moisture, so it is called dry steaming. Some ores are usually placed on the electric stove, which release a variety of elements beneficial to the human body when heated. The temperature of dry steaming is higher than that of wet steaming, and can reach about 100°C. Dry steaming does not contain water, so it is especially suitable for patients with rheumatism. At the same time, there is no steam smell, so the nose will feel more comfortable when steaming. However, your skin will be drier after steaming.

Wet steam

Wet steaming uses electricity to boil water to generate steam, which is then sprayed out through pipes. The generated steam contains abundant moisture and the temperature is generally controlled at 40℃-50℃. It is very good for the skin. After steaming, the skin will be more rosy and hydrated than before. Most ladies choose wet steaming.

Because the skin blood vessels expand significantly and sweating occurs profusely during a steam bath, the skin blood vessels are exercised, blood circulation improves, and various tissues in the skin obtain more nutrition. Sweat excretion also greatly helps to eliminate waste from the body.

Although both sauna and steam baths contain "steam", the methods of obtaining steam are completely different. A sauna bath generates hot air by pouring cold water on stones heated by an electric heater, and its temperature can generally reach over 60°C. A steam bath uses a steam generator to "boil water" with an electric heater to generate mist, which is then sprayed into the steam room through a pipe. Its temperature is lower, generally not exceeding 45°C.
