Dull pain in the thigh

When people walk or stand for a long time, they will experience dull pain in the groin, but few people go to the hospital for a detailed examination, which may lead to misdiagnosis. This is because this symptom is not a single disease, but may be caused by serious conditions inside the body. Therefore, examination is very important so that you can prescribe the right medicine.

1. In the early stage of ankylosing spondylitis, there is inflammatory pain in the joints, accompanied by muscle spasms around the joints and a feeling of stiffness, which is more obvious in the morning; as the disease progresses, the movement of each spinal segment and hip joint is restricted and deformed, leading to pain in the lower limbs or buttocks. 2. Lumbar disc herniation: Low back pain is the first symptom that occurs in most patients. High-level lumbar disc herniation can cause femoral neuralgia and lateral femoral cutaneous neuralgia, resulting in thigh pain.

2. Most patients present with sciatica. Typical sciatica is pain that radiates from the lower back to the buttocks, back of the thigh, outer side of the calf to the foot. The pain will be aggravated when the abdominal pressure increases. 3. Varicose veins in the lower limbs: The surface blood vessels are distended like earthworms, obviously protruding from the skin, and appearing in clumps or nodules; there is a feeling of soreness and swelling in the legs, pigmentation, desquamation, itching on the skin, and edema in the feet and ankles; there are strange sensations in the limbs, such as tingling, itching, numbness, and burning; the temperature of the epidermis increases, and there is pain and tenderness; there are local gangrene and ulcers.

4. Most patients with lateral femoral cutaneous nerve entrapment syndrome have a history of lumbar and buttock sprains, and pain in the affected thigh, which is tingling, sore or tearing. The pain is more severe in the acute phase, and there is pain on the lateral thigh. They often have difficulty sitting up and have limited bending movement. The rolled and elevated lateral femoral cutaneous nerve can be touched on the inner side of the iliac crest and below the anterior superior iliac spine. There is obvious tenderness and swelling of the surrounding soft tissue. 5. Deep vein thrombosis of the lower limbs is more common in patients after childbirth, pelvic surgery, trauma, advanced cancer, coma or long-term bed rest. The onset is relatively acute, with swelling, hardening and pain in the affected limb, which worsens after activity and is often accompanied by fever. There is tenderness at the site of thrombus, cord-like objects can be felt along the blood vessels, the limb distal to the thrombus or the entire limb is swollen, the skin becomes bluish purple, the skin temperature is lowered in arterial embolic disease, and the pulsation of the dorsalis pedis and posterior tibial arteries is weakened or disappears.
