Red gland honeysuckle is 2.5 to 4.5 cm long and 0.8 to 2 mm in diameter. The surface is yellowish white to yellowish brown, glabrous or sparsely hairy, and the calyx tube is glabrous.

The Chinese honeysuckle is 1.6 to 3.5 cm long and 0.5 to 2 mm in diameter. The calyx tube and corolla are densely covered with grayish white hairs, and the ovary is hairy.
