Ointment for acne

Ointment for acne

Many people are troubled by skin diseases such as acne on their faces, because once the first pimple appears on the face, even if this pimple is cured, many pimples will break out later, and treating acne is also a long and long process. Some people even have acne so severe that their faces become sore and leave some bumpy marks on their faces. So if you want to treat acne, what kind of ointment would be better?

1. Benzoyl peroxide gel

Advantages: It has the function of dissolving keratinocytes and killing acne bacteria, and has the effect of eliminating some mildly inflamed acne.

Disadvantages: Slightly irritating to the skin and has no anti-inflammatory effect.

2. 20% azelaic acid topical ointment

Advantages: It has antibacterial effects, can eliminate aerobic bacteria and anaerobic bacteria (Propionibacterium acnes), and also has the effects of unclogging pores, anti-keratinization, and whitening (reducing melanin deposition).

Disadvantages: Slightly irritating to the skin and has no anti-inflammatory effect.

3. Erythromycin ointment

It is an external antibiotic with bactericidal effect. It can be used for the antibacterial effect of common acne and purulent skin diseases, and it also has anti-inflammatory effect.

Disadvantages: If any adverse reaction occurs on the skin, stop using it immediately.

4. Adapalene Gel

The main ingredient is retinoic acid. The mechanism of action of adapalene is believed to be to reduce the formation of micro-acne by normalizing the differentiation of hair follicle epithelial cells. It also has anti-inflammatory effects.

Disadvantages: Irritating to skin, avoid exposure to light.

5. Mupirocin ointment

It is a topical antibiotic suitable for skin infections caused by some bacteria and also has anti-inflammatory effects.

Disadvantages: One course of treatment is 5 days. If there is no effect after one course of treatment, you need to go to the hospital for examination and change the medication in time.

6. Pikang Wang

Ketoconazole is a glucocorticoid ingredient and belongs to the azole antifungal drug class. Acne is generally caused by bacterial infection, and using hormone ointments as acne ointments can lead to severe hormone dermatitis.
