Let life flow between your fingers, you can do it too

Guo Chengjie is one of the four representatives of the inheritance of the world's intangible cultural heritage - Chinese acupuncture. At present, he is nearly a hundred years old, but he is still in good spirits, has an active mind and is agile in action. But many years ago, like many elderly people, his various body functions began to decline. Not only did his knee joints age, but he also suffered from dizziness, memory loss, and senile constipation. In order to alleviate these problems, he created a set of health-preserving exercises. The movements are very simple, which is "one clap and three rubs". Mr. Guo has been doing this set of clapping and hitting exercises for more than 30 years, and his current health and longevity are due to it.

In order to benefit more elderly people and help them live healthier and longer, here are some health-preserving exercises created by Mr. Guo.

One pat, pat the Tanzhong point. Mr. Guo reminds everyone that the methods of selecting the Danzhong point are different for men and women. Men can select the point according to the standard method, which is the midpoint of the line connecting the two nipples. Some female comrades have severe sagging breasts due to breast problems and they need to use another method to locate the acupuncture points, that is, to locate the acupuncture points at the intersection of the anterior midline and the second and third thoracic ribs.

The Danzhong point is the place where several meridians intersect. Using tapping method can unblock the Qi flow in the upper part of the body and achieve the effect of expelling the old and taking in the new. The more important point is that insisting on tapping the Tanzhong point will make people more angry in the future without feeling chest tightness.

The specific operation method is: swing both arms, and use the palms of left and right hands to tap the Tanzhong point alternately, 38 or 60 times each time. You can also rub your hands together to warm them up and then pat them together. Be careful to have rhythm when patting, and use the same speed with both hands to pat the acupoints until you feel warmth behind your sternum.

Mr. Guo introduced: In ancient times, roasting Tanzhong was mostly used to treat diseases. Now, patting is used to stimulate the acupoint to cause fever, and the effect is similar.

Rub, rub your ears. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that the ear is the meeting point of all meridians. The 12 meridians of the human body directly or indirectly go up to the ear, and the human qi and blood will eventually go to the ear. Therefore, if there is any discomfort in the body, massaging the ears can be an auxiliary treatment; if you are not sick, long-term ear massage can also achieve the effect of health preservation and disease prevention.

The specific operation method is: pinch the auricle with your thumb and index finger and rub it up and down. If you feel the force is not enough, it is best to cover both ears with the palms of your hands and massage them back and forth. Maintain a certain strength and massage 38 times each time. If you have enough time, you can massage 60 times.

Second, rub your abdomen. There is a saying in Sun Simiao's health preservation book: "Shake your waist often and massage your abdomen often." Based on his many years of experience, Mr. Guo added a sentence at the end: "The life gate cannot be lost." Mr. Guo introduced that abdominal massage mainly focuses on Shenque, which is the root of life and the place where the middle and lower burners connect. Regularly massaging the Shenque point can help the body's qi flow smoothly, and it can also actually improve gastrointestinal function.

There was a patient who had diabetes and kidney disease, accompanied by constipation and insomnia, and usually relied on insulin injections to lower blood sugar. Although blood sugar can be lowered, insomnia and constipation can never be cured. Dr. Guo believed that the patient suffered from kidney yang deficiency and recommended that he re-burn the Mingmen acupoint. After a period of time, it was found that not only did the patient's blood sugar drop and insulin be halved, but his eating and sleeping habits also improved significantly. This shows that stimulating the Mingmen point not only helps to maintain health and longevity, but also has the effect of lowering blood sugar.

The specific operation method is: overlap your hands and place them on the Shenque (navel) area, first massage clockwise for 5 times, then expand the range of massage, and continue massaging clockwise for 80 to 100 times according to the position of the ascending colon, transverse colon, and sigmoid colon in Western medicine. The kneading speed should be even and forceful. Until you feel warmth in your abdomen. If time permits, the number of massages can be increased to 200.

Third massage, massage the knee joints. The knee joint is a necessary place for the circulation of qi and blood, but due to the weight of the knee joint, it often causes qi and blood stasis, which not only causes knee pain, but can also cause various diseases.

Specific operation method: When massaging, press the left and right palms on the upper part of the knee on the same side, first rub from the outside to the inside 38 times, and then rub from the inside to the outside 38 times. Note that it is best to massage the Xuehai, Liangqiu, Neixiyan, Zusanli and Yinlingquan acupoints around the knees. Then, grab the patella with both hands and lift it up 38 times. Then, bend your legs. There are two acupoints under the patella of the knee joint - the outer knee point and the inner knee point. Use your fingers to press and rub these two acupoints 38 times.

Massaging the knees can effectively relieve knee joint pain. For people with knee joint problems, it is best to massage the knees once every morning after getting up and once before going to bed at night. You can feel obvious therapeutic effects if you persist for 2 to 3 months.
