HIV infection rate

AIDS is a terrible disease. It has now reached the point where people are terrified when talking about it. Many AIDS patients and their families and children live alone in uninhabited areas. Children cannot go to school and family members cannot work with others. Everyone avoids AIDS patients and their families for fear of being infected with the disease. So far, there is no good treatment for AIDS.

AIDS can be said to be a fatal disease. There are two ways of transmission of AIDS, one of which is sexual transmission. This requires everyone to abide by traditional sexual concepts and not engage in promiscuous relationships. The second is blood transmission. Many people are infected with AIDS during blood transfusion or selling blood.

1. Epidemic Overview: According to the WHO report, in 2010, there were 34 million HIV carriers and AIDS patients in the world, 2.7 million new infections, and 1.8 million deaths throughout the year. More than 7,000 people are newly infected every day. The disease is prevalent in all regions of the world, but more than 97% of them are in middle- and low-income countries, especially in Africa. Experts estimate that the world's worst-hit areas may shift from Africa to Asia. The China CDC estimates that as of the end of 2011, there were approximately 780,000 surviving HIV carriers and AIDS patients in my country, with 48,000 new infections and 28,000 deaths throughout the year. The epidemic has spread to all provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities across the country. my country is currently facing a peak period of AIDS incidence and mortality, and the epidemic has begun to spread from high-risk groups such as drug addicts and secret prostitutes to the general population.

2. Source of infection: HIV-infected people and AIDS patients are the only source of infection for this disease.

3. Susceptible population: The general population is susceptible. High-risk groups include: male homosexuals, intravenous drug users, people who have frequent sexual contact with HIV carriers, people who frequently receive blood and blood product transfusions, and babies born to HIV-infected mothers.

There are many AIDS patients in our country now, so it is right for everyone to raise their awareness of prevention. But there is no need to be too nervous. Normal handshakes and contact at work will not be contagious. Even eating and drinking together, sharing a public toilet and taking a bath together will not cause AIDS to be transmitted. The probability of AIDS transmission is not high.
