Increase or decrease of lymphocytes 1) Increase of lymphocytes (lymphocytosis): mainly seen in infectious diseases, and mainly viral infections, such as measles, chickenpox, mumps, viral hepatitis, hemorrhagic fever, and can also be seen in whooping cough, tuberculosis, brucellosis, syphilis, etc. In addition, lymphocytosis may also occur in neoplastic diseases (leukemia, lymphoma), during the recovery period of acute infectious diseases, and after organ transplantation. 2) Lymphocytopenia: It is mainly seen in the treatment of adrenocortical hormones, alkylating agents, antilymphocyte globulin, as well as radiation damage, immunodeficiency disease, and immunoglobulin deficiency.
