Varicose vein valve repair is a common surgical treatment method, which is very effective in repairing damaged valves of the great saphenous vein. We know that one of the main causes of varicose veins is damage to the great saphenous vein valve. For more serious patients, varicose vein valve repair can be used for treatment. If the condition is not serious, conservative treatment methods can also be used. Causes of varicose veins: 1. Age and gender: The causes of varicose veins vary from person to person. Since the venous pressure in the limbs reaches its highest pressure only when the body length reaches its maximum, the body is not tall before puberty, so the diameter of the veins is smaller, which can prevent venous dilation. Therefore, although there are mild symptoms of varicose veins before the age of 30, most of them will gradually lose their tension on the venous walls and valves with age, and the symptoms will be aggravated. 2. Sustained increase in intravenous pressure: Due to the effect of gravity, the venous blood itself exerts a certain amount of pressure on the valve, which will not cause damage to it under normal circumstances. However, when the intravenous pressure continues to rise, the valve will be under excessive pressure, gradually relax, prolapse, and cause incomplete closure. This is more common in people who have to stand for long periods of time at work, do heavy physical labor, are pregnant, have chronic coughs, and have long-term constipation.3. Weak venous wall and valve defects: The venous wall is relatively weak and can expand under the action of venous pressure. The expansion of the valvular sinus causes the original venous valve to fail to close tightly, resulting in relative valve insufficiency and blood backflow. If the valve is poorly developed or missing, it cannot effectively prevent backflow and lead to disease. The great saphenous vein was not ligated. Many patients have undergone great saphenous vein surgery and have obvious surgical scars in the groin area, but B-ultrasound shows that the great saphenous vein is still there. This situation is mostly due to the surgeon's lack of clinical experience, who ligates the branch as the main trunk, or fails to find the great saphenous vein and gives up on ligating it. Leaving the great saphenous vein intact is the most common cause of recurrent varicose veins. This can be confirmed by ultrasound examination. Lesser saphenous vein insufficiency. Since most doctors do not perform vascular ultrasound examinations on patients before surgery, it is easy to overlook the existence of lesions in the small saphenous vein. One reason is that the small saphenous vein is located at the back of the calf; the other reason is that the small saphenous vein is located deep and its dilation is not easy to be detected. Reflux in the lesser saphenous vein can cause varicose veins to reappear. Ultrasound examination can also clarify the cause of recurrence. |
