Myasthenia gravis crisis

Myasthenia gravis crisis

We often see a word called myasthenia gravis on TV programs. No matter what kind of symptom it is, it will be divided into three categories: mild, moderate, and severe. That is the so-called degree of symptoms. We all know that the lighter the symptoms, the faster they can be cured. On the contrary, the more severe the symptoms, the more dangerous they are. Many situations can cause abnormalities in our bodies. Good health can be said to be the wish of each of us to be a healthy and happy person. So when these bad news happen, we still have to face the problem calmly.

As the saying goes, illness comes from the mouth. Eating unhealthy food can cause many diseases. However, there are special circumstances, such as not exercising regularly and not stretching your muscles and bones can also affect your health. So what happens when a myasthenia gravis crisis actually occurs?

Patients with myasthenia gravis crisis need to stay in bed for a long time due to muscle weakness and mechanical ventilation, so lying comfort is particularly important. Provide an air mattress and turn the patient over regularly, every 2 to 3 hours, or as needed by the patient. Nurses should understand the pain that patients feel when they are in a certain resting position for a long time. After helping them change positions, they should ask them how they feel and make corrections in a timely manner. When lying on the side, a soft pillow should be placed on the back, and soft pillows should also be placed on the side-turned limbs and dimples. In short, do not let the patient's limbs feel empty. At the same time, due to endotracheal intubation or tracheotomy, the pillow should not be too high, generally 10cm

A sponge pillow on the left and right is appropriate. And often help patients move their limbs to relieve the discomfort of long-term bed rest. Keep the bed unit flat and dry, replace wet and dirty sheets in time to make the patient comfortable in lying position.

Reduce patients' social discomfort

Most patients with myasthenia gravis have a process of repeated attacks. Multiple hospitalizations and emergency treatments often cause patients to become anxious, irritable, and nervous due to family finances, medical expenses, family relationships, and other reasons. We care about and show consideration for patients based on their different mental states, communicate fully with them psychologically, and enhance their confidence in overcoming the disease. At the same time, we should do a good job in the ideological work of family members, strive for their understanding and support, create a good external environment for patients, and achieve satisfactory results.

Physical health determines a person's mood, so health and mood are mutually restrictive. Similarly, if a person is not in a good mood or attitude when he learns about his physical condition, this will definitely affect his condition. Optimism is the nemesis of all diseases. Only when you are in a good mood will you have the confidence to fight the disease. The above introduces some crisis symptoms of myasthenia gravis, which gives us a general understanding of what may cause this symptom so that we can take precautions.
