There are many types of common diseases. The choice of methods is critical in the treatment of some diseases, especially for complex diseases. Not only does it take a long time, but there are also many treatment options. Complex and simple diseases are different. Simple diseases do not cause much harm to human health and are easier to treat. So what kind of disease is tuberculosis skin test? Many people are not clear about this.

Before treating your own disease, you also need to have a good understanding of the disease. When treating the disease, you will know what kind of treatment method is best. So what kind of disease is tuberculosis skin test?

Tuberculosis skin test:

Tuberculosis is a chronic infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis (tubercle bacillus). It can affect multiple organs throughout the body, but pulmonary tuberculosis is the most common.

The pathological characteristics of this disease are tuberculous nodules and caseous necrosis, which are prone to form cavities. Clinically, it is mostly a chronic process, but in a few cases, the disease may develop acutely. There are often systemic symptoms such as low-grade fever and fatigue, and respiratory manifestations such as cough and hemoptysis.

What are the symptoms after a tuberculosis skin test?

The size of the nodule is used as a criterion for judging the reaction:

(1) Negative: There is no induration at the injection site or the average diameter of the induration is less than 5mm. The concentration of the first skin test solution is 0.1 ml containing 1 unit of tuberculin. The result will be checked by the attending physician 48 hours after the injection. If it is negative, a second skin test solution concentration of 0.1 ml containing 5 units of tuberculin will be performed, and the result will be checked again 48 hours later. Only if both tests are negative can it be confirmed to be negative.

(2) Positive: The average diameter of the nodule is ≥5 mm. 5-9 mm is generally positive; 10-19 mm is moderately positive; ≥20 mm (≥15 mm for children) is strongly positive; if the diameter is <20 mm but there are blisters, necrosis, double rings, lymphangitis, etc., it is strongly positive.

Through the above introduction, we have a good understanding of what tuberculosis skin test is. Therefore, when treating such a disease, we must be careful not to carry out it arbitrarily. When treating such a disease, the choice of methods must also be diversified. For example, drug treatment and diet therapy are good methods that can well control the patient's disease.
