5. Control your diet and do not drink beverages containing caffeine, such as coffee and tea. Try to avoid greasy or sweet foods, such as chocolate and cake. Because this type of diet will reduce the pressure of the lower esophageal sphincter and increase the reflux of gastric acid. In addition, try to avoid drinking sour fruit juices, such as lemon juice and tomato juice. Because these acidic drinks can irritate the inflamed esophagus and increase chest burning and pain. It may be difficult to change the habit of eating midnight snacks in a short period of time, so doctors recommend that soda crackers and other low-fat and easily digestible foods are a good choice to replace high-fat and greasy snacks. Drinking some fresh milk before going to bed can not only prevent hunger, but also help you fall asleep, which is also a good choice.
