Is 37.6 degrees considered a fever?

Is 37.6 degrees considered a fever?

Fever is also called fever. In daily life, we usually associate colds with fever. In fact, this statement is wrong. Cold patients have many symptoms, and a cold does not necessarily cause a fever. There are also many diseases that cause fever, and a fever is not necessarily caused by a cold. Therefore, there is no equivalent relationship between colds and fevers.

In fact, many diseases in daily life can cause fever, such as mechanical injuries, viral and microbial infections, etc. So many times if we feel unwell, we think we have a fever. But this kind of fever is just our feeling. If we need to check if we have a fever, we need to rely on a thermometer.

The normal value of body temperature is a range: oral sublingual temperature is 37.0 (range 36.3-37.2), rectal temperature is 36.5-37.7 (0.3-0.5 higher than oral temperature), and axillary temperature is 36.0-37.0 (0.3-0.5 lower than oral temperature).

However, if the temperature is not far from the critical value, such as 37.6 degrees, the following physiological factors should also be considered:

1 Changes in human body temperature during a day: lowest around 4 am and highest at 6 pm. Therefore, an oral temperature of 37.5℃ measured in the morning can be considered a fever, but not necessarily in the evening.

2 The "normal body temperature" of different people can differ by about 0.4℃.

3 Pre-menopausal women have regular changes in body temperature during their ovulation cycle.

The above is the classification of fever temperature. From it we can see that the temperature of fever will be different depending on the part where the fever is measured. Therefore, when we measure, we need to make judgments based on different measurement standards for different parts, and our body temperature will also change differently according to different physiological periods, so we also need to distinguish them when making judgments.
