How to identify the authenticity of antelope horns?

2. The appearance is flat cone or cone-shaped, the milky white and yellowish white antelope horns are transparent, the cut is ring-shaped, with 10-16 ridges, about 2 cm apart.

3. In my country, most of the horns of Tibetan antelopes are irregularly long and conical, relatively straight, flattened at the tip, 40-70cm long, with a gray-black, smooth and opaque surface. Except for the horn tips, there are 10-16 protruding ridges, which are dense at the tips and about 2 cm apart at the body.

4. There is a bone plug at the lower end. After removing the bone plug, you can see that there is a protruding corner on the surface of the bone plug which fits exactly with the indentation inside the corner. Those without the above characteristics are all fake antelope horns. In addition, those that become loose after soaking in tap water are fake products with bright corners; those that become sticky are fake products with fish bladders.

5. Antelope horns are more comfortable to hold in the hand, while the common fake antelope horns on the market are shorter, 10-20cm, not transparent, and are uncomfortable to hold in the hand.

6. If you rub antelope horns or antelope horn products with cotton cloth for a period of time, you can smell a sheep smell, but the counterfeit ones do not have this smell.
