Precautions for varicella vaccination

Chickenpox is a disease that everyone will experience at least once in their life. Chickenpox is very harmful to people. In mild cases, it may leave scars, while in severe cases, it may lead to complications such as pneumonia and otitis media. For people, more than 85 percent of chickenpox patients are in childhood. Therefore, this has to attract people's attention. Finally, thanks to people's efforts, a method to control chickenpox was found.

In an era when there was no cure for chickenpox, there must have been many children who died from it. Now, vaccination against chickenpox is an excellent way people have discovered to treat chickenpox. So at this moment when people can feel so happy that they cry, what else should we pay attention to when getting vaccinated?

How to care for children after vaccination After vaccination, parents can observe and care for their children according to the following points: 1. Systemic reactions: mainly observe the child's body temperature, which is generally between 37 and 38 degrees Celsius, accompanied by nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, general fatigue, general discomfort, etc., which often appear within 1-2 days after vaccination and last for 1-2 days and can disappear on their own; if it exceeds 38.5 degrees Celsius, antipyretics can be given under the guidance of a doctor. 2. Local reactions: Redness, swelling and pain will appear at the injection site 12-24 hours after vaccination, which will last for 2-3 days and then disappear on its own. For individual more serious cases, hot compress treatment can be used after the acute phase. Scratching and massage should be avoided, and attention should be paid to local cleanliness and hygiene.

3. Abnormal reactions: After vaccination, fainting may occur within a few minutes, and there may be symptoms such as palpitations, pale complexion, numbness of hands and feet, and sweating all over the body. Let the child lie down and rest immediately to return to normal. Severe cases require emergency treatment under the guidance of a doctor. The occurrence of this reaction is related to the child's physical constitution and only occurs in very few children.

Precautions after vaccination: 1. Carry out vaccination according to regulations and immunization procedures.

2. Do not feed your child milk within 30 minutes to 1 hour after vaccination. This is because if the child is sucking milk from a bottle when convulsions occur after vaccination, it is very likely to cause pneumonia.

3. The injection site should be kept dry and clean for 24 hours, and try not to bathe.

4. Observe your child’s reaction carefully. Based on experience, abnormal symptoms may appear at least ten minutes and at most ten days after vaccination.

5. Do not let your baby sleep on his stomach. Do not place your baby on his or her stomach to sleep after vaccination, as seizures or breathing difficulties can be life-threatening.

6. Consult a doctor if side effects occur. After vaccination, if the baby has a high fever over 40 degrees Celsius, or cries for more than 3 hours within 48 hours, has convulsions, or has a severe allergic reaction, then you should consult a doctor before deciding whether and when to get the next vaccination.

7. Please observe at the vaccination site for 15-30 minutes after vaccination and leave only after no abnormal reactions occur.

People have to admit that human wisdom is infinite. Vaccination is indeed very effective in treating and preventing many diseases. Therefore, parents with children at home should take their children to the hospital in time to get the vaccines that are required by the country. This is not only responsible for themselves but also for the entire country.
