What should not be eaten at night for asthma

Asthma is a disease that people often hear and see in their daily lives. Asthma is a very typical respiratory disease, which often causes people to have difficulty breathing once it occurs. However, nocturnal asthma is rarely reported in real life, so people don’t know much about it. In fact, the causes of nocturnal asthma are the same as other asthma, but it is different because it usually occurs at night.

According to survey statistics, 70% of asthma deaths are caused by nocturnal asthma. It can be seen how serious the consequences of nocturnal asthma are. People should also pay more attention to nocturnal asthma, for example, they can learn about the dietary taboos for nocturnal asthma.

The pathogenesis of nocturnal asthma is basically the same as that of general asthma. It is also a disease characterized by chronic nonspecific airway inflammation, which involves multiple interacting inflammatory cells. Mast cells, as the main effector cells causing acute asthma, act as a "trigger"; eosinophils are considered to be the main effector cells of airway inflammation that induce chronic asthma. It has been confirmed that the percentage and count of eosinophils are inversely proportional to FEV1. In recent years, foreign studies on nocturnal asthma have found that the eosinophils in the peripheral blood and sputum of nocturnal asthma patients are significantly higher than those of normal people, indicating that the onset of nocturnal asthma is closely related to airway eosinophilic inflammation.

Foods that asthma patients should avoid include egg yolks, roosters, fatty pork, mutton, dog meat, sea fish, clams, crabs, shrimps; papaya, leeks, day lily, peanuts, pickles, chili peppers, pepper; saccharin, flavors, pigments, chocolate; ice cream and other cold drinks, soda and other carbonated drinks, alcohol, coffee, and strong tea. The food should be warm, light, and soft, and you can eat small meals frequently.

The mortality rate of nocturnal asthma is a warning to people not to take these patients lightly, especially at night when everyone needs to rest. People should find ways to ensure the personal safety of asthma patients during this time. Until there is a cure for asthma, people can only try their best to maintain the patient's life in the hope that one day asthma can be conquered.
