What is leukemia cutis

Skin leukemia is generally a hereditary disease. It is mainly caused by the appearance of malignant tumors in the white blood cells in the body's blood. Therefore, we should pay attention to this disease in our lives and seek medical treatment in time to control the development of the disease. The main manifestations of cutaneous leukemia are macules, plaques and bruises on the skin. You should know how to deal with this situation.

The incidence of skin leukemia is relatively high. We should have some understanding of its symptoms before we can treat it. Therefore, we recommend that patients with skin leukemia should go to the hospital for doctor's examination as soon as possible when they encounter this disease in life.

Leukemia cutis is a malignant tumor of the white blood cells that is characterized by diffuse infiltration of the bone marrow with immature white blood cells and abnormal numbers of immature white blood cells in the blood. In addition, immature leukocytes often extensively infiltrate the liver, spleen, lymph nodes, and other organs including the skin. Clinically, the specific lesions of various types of cutaneous leukemia are macules, papules, plaques, nodules, ecchymoses, and palpable purpura. The histological characteristics of most cutaneous leukemias are dense or diffuse infiltration of atypical leukocytes around blood vessels and glands, with a non-infiltrated zone under the epidermis.

The lesions are red or purple, slightly raised papules or nodules. In some cases, the papules may merge into plaques. Hemorrhagic lesions may occur. As the nodules continue to grow, they may form ulcers. The lesions are widespread, with the trunk, limbs, and neck being the most commonly affected areas. However, there are also cases where single large nodules or plaques occur.

Immature atypical myeloid cells and bizarre nuclei are common. Mitotic figures are common in AML infiltrates. The infiltrating cells of CML are more polymorphic, mainly granulocytes at different stages of differentiation, including atypical myeloid cells, metamyelocytes, and neutrophils. Granular cell sarcoma is composed of large mature cells mixed with immature myeloid cells that diffusely and confluently infiltrate the dermis and subcutaneous tissue.

Skin leukemia is a disease that causes great harm to the patient's body. We recommend that everyone should take correct treatment methods to treat it in life. In life, you should learn more about the causes, symptoms and treatments of cutaneous leukemia so that you can control cutaneous leukemia in time.
