Hematocrit

Hematocrit

Hematocrit is an important indicator used to determine a person's blood viscosity. Clinically, it has two possibilities: too high or too low. If it is too low, it generally manifests as anemia. If it is too high, it will cause the blood to be too viscous, which may lead to stroke or thrombosis. Therefore, whether it is too high or too low, I hope that everyone can pay attention to it.

If you are diagnosed with abnormal red blood cell count, you must undergo a detailed physical examination to find out the cause, and then treat the red blood cell count accordingly so that the red blood cell count can be restored to the normal range.

If the red blood cell pressure is low, you can try blood-enriching drugs according to the condition. Pay attention to eating fruits and vegetables regularly, and eat some red dates, wolfberries, etc. The way to prevent it is to add iron-rich foods to your child's diet starting from the next month. Since the iron in egg yolk is easily absorbed and utilized, egg yolk is essential. You can also eat some green vegetable puree. You can add minced meat, meat floss, animal blood, liver paste, etc. to your child's food. Fresh fruit juice containing vitamin C helps promote children's absorption of iron.

Hematocrit (packed blood cell volume): refers to the percentage of red blood cells in the whole blood. In healthy adults, it is 0.37-0.5, or 37%-50%, in the whole blood sample. Women have a lower rate than men. Changes in the number of red blood cells during exercise directly affect changes in hematocrit. The changes in its hematocrit value are basically consistent with the changes in the red blood cell count.

A high hematocrit is actually a sign of excessive blood viscosity. Human blood circulates in blood vessels. If the blood is too viscous, the blood flow rate will inevitably slow down. In severe cases, it can affect the blood supply to important organs of the human body and cause heart disease and stroke. The main parameter of red blood cells is slightly high (the others are auxiliary parameters of red blood cells), which may be related to blood concentration. It is best to conduct blood rheology and blood lipid tests, measure blood pressure, and do an electrocardiogram.

To prevent or control blood viscosity, you should first pay attention to the amount of water you drink. It is best to drink 200 ml of water after getting up in the morning, before meals (1 hour before meals) and before going to bed. Eat a low-salt diet and eat more foods that have the function of thinning the blood.

Medical experts recommend the following foods that have blood-thinning functions: foods that inhibit platelet aggregation and prevent thrombosis include black fungus, onions, bell peppers, shiitake mushrooms, strawberries, pineapples, lemons, etc.; foods that have anticoagulant effects similar to aspirin include tomatoes, red grapes, oranges, and ginger; foods that have lipid-lowering effects include celery, carrots, konjac, hawthorn, seaweed, kelp, corn, sesame, etc.

Now you know how to adjust red blood cell pressure that is too low or too high. If your red blood cell pressure is abnormal, you must make appropriate adjustments according to the above methods. Especially when the red blood cell pressure is high, you must pay attention to make adjustments. Otherwise, if it leads to diseases such as stroke, the harm can be quite serious.
