Lung Qi deficiency is a common symptom. Many children or the elderly will have sub-healthy symptoms of lung Qi deficiency. When the lung Qi is deficient, many physical discomfort symptoms will appear, such as chest tightness, shortness of breath, and cough. This group of people are prone to various diseases. This can be said to be a chronic disease that needs to be slowly adjusted. So what should we do if the lung Qi is insufficient? Are there some good ways to supplement the deficiency of lung Qi?

To understand what to do if the lung qi is insufficient, we must first understand some of the symptoms of lung qi deficiency, so that we can pay attention to it and carry out symptomatic treatment. Do not underestimate this symptom. If it is not treated and regulated in time, it will be very harmful to your body to be in a sub-healthy state for a long time. Here are some symptoms of insufficient lung qi and how to treat it:

Symptoms of Lung Qi Deficiency

There are five common symptoms of lung qi deficiency: (1) lack of energy, shortness of breath and shortness of breath after a little work; (2) reduced resistance to disease, easy to be infected by external pathogens, easy to catch a cold, often with chills and runny nose; (3) prone to sinusitis in cold weather; (4) dry, wrinkled and itchy skin, especially in the dry autumn and winter; (5) often leads to kidney yang deficiency, which impairs the circulation of water and causes serious consequences. Treatment of Lung Qi Deficiency

(1) It is used to treat organ deficiency and insufficient lung qi. If the symptoms include shortness of breath, cough, low voice, fatigue, low blood pressure, pale complexion or spontaneous sweating, pale tongue with white coating, and weak pulse, the lung qi should be replenished. Baoyuan Decoction with Schisandra chinensis should be used: 9 grams of ginseng, 15 grams of astragalus, 3 grams of ginger, 6 grams of Schisandra chinensis, and 3 grams of roasted licorice. Add water and boil, extract the juice, and take it 2 to 3 times a day; or soak it in boiling water and drink it instead of tea. You can also use ginseng walnut soup with schisandra chinensis: 9 grams of ginseng, 30 grams of walnut kernels, 3 grams of ginger, and 6 grams of schisandra chinensis. Add water and boil to extract juice. Take it 2-3 times a day.

(2) For those who are prone to catching colds, with symptoms such as nasal congestion, dizziness, headache, aversion to cold, fatigue, thin white tongue coating, and weak pulse, Yupingfeng Powder plus Perilla should be used: 15 grams of Astragalus, 15 grams of Atractylodes, 12 grams of Saposhnikovia, 6 grams of ginger, and 10 grams of Perilla. Add water and boil to extract juice, take it three times a day. If you do not have a cold, you should strengthen the lung qi and consolidate the exterior. You should take Yupingfeng Powder (remove the perilla from the previous recipe) as a decoction orally, twice a day. Or take Yupingfeng Pills 6g (or granules) at a time, twice a day. You can also use Beiqi tablets, 4 tablets at a time, twice a day; or use Ginseng Beiqi tablets, 4 tablets at a time, twice a day.

(3) For chronic sinusitis due to deficiency and cold, symptoms include dizziness, aversion to cold, spontaneous sweating, etc. The main focus should be on replenishing lung qi, while also opening the orifices and detoxifying. It is advisable to use Bitongning Drops (containing Xindi and Xanthium sibiricum) as nasal drops, 1 to 2 drops each time, 2 to 3 times a day. Or use Bitong Pills (containing Xindi, Bushicao, Angelica dahurica, Menthus fragrans, Scutellaria baicalensis, and Licorice), one pill at a time, twice a day. All of them also took Beiqi tablets.

(4) For deficiency of both lung qi and yin and insufficiency of kidney yin, symptoms include internal heat due to yin deficiency, red tongue and dry mouth, dry cough with little sputum, hot palms and soles, insomnia, night sweats, nocturnal emission, and dry stool. For treatment, it is advisable to use Buyin Decoction with modifications: 15 grams of raw rehmannia, 10 grams of Ophiopogon japonicus, 10 grams of Asparagus cochinchinensis, 10 grams of Adenophora paniculata, 10 grams of Rehmannia glutinosa, 15 grams of Ligustrum lucidum, 6 grams of Radix Trichosanthis, and 3 grams of Licorice. This prescription has the effects of nourishing the kidneys and lungs, clearing away heat and relieving dry cough.

(5) It is used for patients with lung qi deficiency and kidney yang deficiency, with symptoms such as cold body and fear of cold, inability to stop clear nasal discharge, frequent urination, and uncontrollable urination. It can replenish qi and warm the kidneys. It is suitable to use Baoyuan Decoction: 9 grams of ginseng, 15 grams of astragalus, 6 grams of cinnamon, 3 grams of ginger, and 3 grams of roasted licorice. Add water and boil to extract juice, take orally 2-3 times a day.

(6) Elderly people with lung deficiency who have dry, wrinkled, and itchy skin are mostly physiological phenomena. You can reduce the frequency of bathing or apply moisturizer to relieve itching. If necessary, you can use Siwu Xiaofeng San with modifications: 15 grams of Astragalus, 12 grams of Angelica, 15 grams of Rehmannia, 10 grams of Red Peony, 10 grams of Schizonepeta, 10 grams of Saposhnikovia, and 10 grams of Periostracum Cicadae. Add water and boil to extract juice, take orally twice a day. This prescription has the functions of invigorating qi and nourishing blood, dispelling wind and relieving itching.

Through the above introduction to the symptoms and conditioning methods of lung qi deficiency, I believe you should have a clear answer to what to do if your lung qi is insufficient. This group of people should not be impatient for quick results. You need to adjust your body slowly. The advantage of using Chinese medicine for conditioning is that it has no side effects. Although the effect is slow to appear, the effect is very good. For this group of people, try to avoid places with a lot of powder, participate in more physical exercises, and enhance their own resistance.
