(2) Differentiation between this syndrome and the syndrome of deficiency of heart qi: Both syndromes also fall into the category of syndrome of deficiency of qi. However, this syndrome is caused by the lungs, so it is characterized by coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath, which is worse when moving, easy to catch cold, and general symptoms of Qi deficiency. However, the syndrome of cardiac Qi deficiency is caused by the heart, so it is characterized by palpitations, chest tightness and discomfort, aggravation of symptoms after activity, and general signs of Qi deficiency. If clinically there are both symptoms of lung qi deficiency and symptoms of heart qi deficiency, it is a combination of the two and heart and lung qi deficiency.
