Chinese medicine prescription for cold caused by qi deficiency

Cold is a very common symptom. For many people, cold can be regarded as commonplace. Of course, catching a cold a few times a year is good for the human body, as it can increase the body's cold antibodies. Of course, in order to avoid further worsening of the cold, it is still necessary to treat the cold in time. So, what methods should be used to treat Qi deficiency colds?

Traditional Chinese medicine is based on the treatment of exogenous wind, cold and dampness in children, those suffering from illness, those after childbirth, the elderly, and the weak. Influenza, bronchitis, rheumatoid arthritis, urticaria, eczema, sores, dysentery and other diseases. The following is proposed:

Ingredients: 9 grams of Bupleurum, 9 grams of Peucedanum, 6 grams of Chuanxiong, 9 grams of Citrus aurantium, 9 grams of Notopterygium wilfordii, 6 grams of Angelica dahurica, 9 grams of Poria, 6 grams of stir-fried Platycodon grandiflorum, 6 grams of ginseng, 5 grams of licorice, 2 slices of ginger, and 2 grams of mint.

Usage: Decoction in water and drink warm in 2-3 times.

Efficacy: Invigorate Qi, relieve exterior symptoms, dispel wind and eliminate dampness.

Indications: People with qi deficiency and exogenous wind, cold and dampness. Aversion to cold and high fever, no sweating, stiff neck and head, sore limbs, nasal congestion and heavy cough, fullness in the chest and diaphragm, white and greasy tongue coating, floating and moist pulse, or floating and rapid pulse but weak when taken hard.

Key points of prescription: This prescription was originally designed for symptoms of qi deficiency, exogenous wind, cold and dampness. Evil factors are stagnant on the skin, Wei Yang is suppressed, and the meridians are blocked, so there is chills and fever without sweating, and pain in the neck and limbs; the spleen is weak and Qi is deficient, which easily leads to dampness and phlegm. In addition, wind and cold invade the lungs, and the lung Qi cannot be released, so the phlegm and dampness block the Qi mechanism, so there is nasal congestion, chest tightness, cough with phlegm, greasy tongue coating and floating pulse; the pulse is wet or weak when taken heavy, which is a sign of deficiency of the body and weak Qi. The key points of the pathogenesis of this syndrome are that wind, cold and dampness invade the skin surface and meridians, phlegm and dampness block the chest, diaphragm, lungs and spleen, and the body's vital energy is weak and unable to expel the evil. The treatment should be to relieve the symptoms, dispel wind, cold and dampness, strengthen the spleen, resolve phlegm, and promote the flow of qi, and invigorate qi, strengthen the body and help expel the evil.

In the formula, Qianghuo and Duhuo are pungent, warm and dispersing, and can dispel wind, cold and dampness from the body, open up the joints and relieve pain, so they are the main medicines. Chaihu is pungent and dispersing, relieves muscles and reduces fever, while Chuanxiong promotes blood circulation and dispels wind, helping the main medicine to resolve exterior symptoms, dispel evil, relieve numbness and relieve pain, and is the auxiliary medicine. Citrus aurantium can lower qi, Platycodon grandiflorum can invigorate the lungs, Peucedanum chinense can eliminate phlegm, and Poria cocos can eliminate dampness. Together, they can promote the flow of qi and relax the chest and diaphragm, eliminate phlegm and dampness and stop coughing. In addition, a small amount of ginseng can invigorate qi and strengthen the body to help resolve the exterior, so that the evil can be eliminated without harming the body. Together, they serve as adjuvant medicines. Licorice harmonizes the middle and regulates the medicine, and also helps to replenish Qi; ginger and mint disperse external evil and also serve as adjuvants. The whole prescription takes into account both the positive and negative forces, and treats both the exterior and the interior. It can eliminate the negative forces without harming the positive forces, and can relieve the exterior and bring harmony to the interior.
