Traditional Chinese Medicine Treatment of Lupus Nephritis

When it comes to lupus nephritis, many friends feel that it is very scary. There are certain reasons for this. After all, the harm caused by lupus nephritis is relatively serious, especially for women, because lupus nephritis is more prone to women. Therefore, we must pay attention to preventing lupus nephritis in normal times. If you suffer from lupus nephritis, it is best to treat it from the perspective of traditional Chinese medicine. After all, the research on kidney disease by traditional Chinese medicine in my country is higher than that of Western medicine. The specific methods of traditional Chinese medicine for treating lupus nephritis are as follows:

(1) Severe heat and toxicity: Treatment: Clear away heat, detoxify and cool the blood.

Prescription: Rhinoceros Horn and Rehmannia Decoction combined with Wuwei Xiaodu Drink with modifications. Medicinal materials include buffalo horn, raw rehmannia, red peony root, moutan bark, honeysuckle, wild chrysanthemum, dandelion, plantain, and Scrophularia. If the patient is in coma and delirium, you can add Angong Niuhuang Pills, Zixuedan and the like; if there is convulsion, add antelope horn powder, Uncaria rhynchophylla, scorpion, etc.; if there is obvious blood stasis, add peach kernel, safflower, madder, Leonurus japonicus, Zedoariae rhizome, etc.

(2) Liver and kidney yin deficiency: Treatment: Nourish the liver and kidney, activate blood and clear qi.

Prescription: Guishao Dihuang Decoction with modifications, using whole angelica, red and white peony root, raw rehmannia, moutan bark, poria, oriental water plantain, yam, cornus fruit, motherwort, imperata root, etc. If there is hematuria, add raw arborvitae, verbena, raw sanguisorba officinalis, and thistle; if there is dampness and edema of the lower limbs, add Achyranthes bidentata, Plantago seed, and Stephania tetrandra; if there is blood stasis, add Salvia miltiorrhiza and Eupatorium fortunei; if the patient has yin deficiency and yang hyperactivity and has dizziness and tinnitus, add Bombyx batryticatus, chrysanthemum, and magnetite.

(3) Spleen and kidney yang deficiency: Treatment: Strengthen the spleen and benefit the kidneys.

Prescriptions: For those with spleen and kidney qi deficiency, use Buzhong Yiqi Decoction or Yigong Powder with Cuscuta Australis, Cornus officinalis, Psoralea corylifolia, etc., or use Wuzi Yanzong Pills with Codonopsis pilosula and Astragalus membranaceus; if it is spleen and kidney yang deficiency, use Shipi Yin or Zhenwu Decoction with modifications; if it is spleen deficiency edema, use Fangji Huangqi Decoction combined with Fangji Fuling Decoction or Chunze Decoction with modifications; if it is spleen deficiency edema with blood stasis, use Danggui Shaosan with modifications.

(4) Deficiency of both Qi and Yin: Treatment: Invigorate Qi and nourish Yin.

Prescription: Use Shenqi Dihuang Decoction or Dabuyuan Decoction with modifications. If the patient has both yin and yang deficiency, use Dihuang Yinzi or Shenqi Guifu Dihuang Decoction to replenish both yin and yang. If there is blood stasis, add Salvia miltiorrhiza, Eupatorium fortunei, Leonurus japonicus, etc., or add insect medicine as appropriate; if there is blood stasis, add Amomum villosum, Citrus aurantium, Fritillaria thunbergii, Trichosanthes kirilowii, Arisaema consanguineum, fresh bamboo juice, etc.; if there is edema, add Achyranthes bidentata, Plantago seed, Stephania tetrandra, etc.; if there is damp-heat, use Sanmiao Pills or Sanren Decoction, Scutellaria baicalensis Talc Decoction, etc.

The above is an introduction to the method of treating lupus nephritis with traditional Chinese medicine. When treating this disease, patients must be careful to avoid exposure to sunlight, because if they are exposed to sunlight, it will easily lead to the aggravation of the disease, which will have a more serious impact on the treatment of the disease. At the same time, they should pay attention to reducing the burden on the kidneys.
