Rehmannia root: sweet in taste, warm in nature. It enters the liver and kidney meridians and is used for symptoms such as blood deficiency, chlorosis, dizziness, palpitations, and insomnia. "Bencao Zheng" (Compendium of Materia Medica): "Rehmannia root is mild in nature, with a pure and quiet smell and taste, so it can replenish the true yin of the five internal organs, and it is most important for the organs with a lot of blood. It is a medicine for the spleen and stomach meridians. Moreover, the reason why people are alive is because of qi and blood." Morinda officinalis: pungent and sweet, warm, non-toxic. Go into spleen and kidney meridians. Nourish kidney yang, strengthen muscles and bones, and eliminate rheumatism. It is used to treat impotence, cold pain in the lower abdomen, incontinence, cold uterus, wind-cold arthritis, and pain in the waist and knees. Epimedium: pungent, sweet, warm. It enters the liver and kidney. Nourish the kidney and strengthen yang, dispel wind and dampness. It is used to treat impotence, dribbling urination, muscle and bone spasms, hemiplegia, weakness of the waist and knees, rheumatic pain, and numbness of the limbs.
