What is gastric nodule?

Gastric nodules are a disease caused by gastritis. Generally, middle-aged people suffer from gastric nodules more often, especially female patients. Gastric nodules are mainly caused by irregular diet, lack of attention to food, and excessive consumption of spicy food. People with gastric nodules should go to the hospital for examination in time. So, what exactly is gastric nodules?

1. What is gastric nodule?

Nodular gastritis is a chronic superficial gastritis that is more common in young and middle-aged people, especially women, and the main symptom is stomach pain. Gastroscopy pathological examination, can see the lymph follicles.

Nodular gastritis is a special type of gastritis caused by Helicobacter pylori infection and requires timely treatment. The infection problem must be resolved first. Nodular gastritis is a special type of gastritis caused by infection. Patients need to go to a regular hospital for timely examination and active treatment of Helicobacter pylori.

Generally speaking, for nodular gastritis, all possible causes of the disease should be eliminated, such as: avoiding smoking, drinking, and avoiding foods and medicines that are highly irritating to the gastric mucosa. At the same time, patients should also actively treat chronic diseases of the mouth, nose, and pharynx, balance nutrition, and strengthen exercise to improve the body's immune ability.

Finally, when pain occurs, atropine, propantheline, etc. can be used for treatment. At the same time, antibiotics such as streptomycin and tetracycline should be taken to completely cure Helicobacter pylori. Patients should be careful not to reduce or stop medication without authorization when symptoms improve. It is best to consolidate medication to avoid recurrent attacks.

2. What are the symptoms of gastric nodules?

Subclinical gastric sarcoidosis: the most common type of gastric sarcoidosis. Most are asymptomatic and are usually discovered incidentally through gastric mucosal biopsy. The mucosa may appear normal (nodules elevated above the muscularis). Superficial nodules are congested. In chronic cases there is atrophic gastritis, which is usually benign.

Ulcerative gastric sarcoidosis: manifests throughout the stomach. It most commonly occurs in the gastric antrum mucosa, pylorus and lesser curvature of the stomach. Epigastric pain/upper gastrointestinal bleeding/obstruction. Both benign and malignant-appearing ulcers have been reported as nodules.

Infiltrative gastric sarcoidosis: Non-diffused type → distal part of the stomach → smooth, conical antrum with constriction and deformity. Diffuse type → leathery gastric appearance → should be distinguishable from gastric cancer. Polypoid gastric sarcoidosis: rare. It can be multiple or single.

Clinical manifestations: epigastric pain (75%), usually postprandial, nausea, vomiting, abdominal distension, early satiety, weight loss; 25% of patients have upper gastrointestinal bleeding, sometimes severe; obstruction: extensive retroperitoneal lymphadenopathy may externally compress the gastric antrum.

3. How to treat gastric nodules

Commonly used drugs for protecting gastric mucosa include colloidal bismuth subcitrate (CBS), sucralfate, mezilin-S, aluminum hydroxide gel, and gastric mucosa.

Drugs that adjust gastrointestinal motility function and treat upper abdominal distension include domperidone. For those who suffer from hiccups, bloating or reflux, gastrokinetic drugs can be used.

Antibiotics If gastroscopy shows Helicobacter pylori is positive, antibiotics should be taken, such as clarithromycin, amoxicillin, etc., which have the effect of clearing Hp. Generally, two types can be selected, and they are often used in combination with gastric mucosal protectants and acid inhibitors.
