What are the Chinese herbal medicines for weight loss?

Compared with Western medicine, Chinese herbal medicine is in larger quantities and most of them need to be boiled before they can be taken. But in fact, the efficacy of Chinese herbal medicine is not inferior to that of Western medicine. Some diseases can only be treated with Chinese medicine, and taking Western medicine has no effect. In addition, Chinese herbal medicine is also beneficial for weight loss. Many people have successfully lost weight through the conditioning of Chinese herbal medicine. Next, I will introduce to you some Chinese herbal medicines that can help you lose weight.

Chinese medicinal herbs used for body shaping and beauty can be roughly divided into four categories according to their medicinal effects:

Digestive drugs: such as hawthorn, barley sprouts, malt, etc., their function is to eliminate stagnation (in Chinese medicine terms, it is called digestion and stagnation removal). Especially hawthorn, it contains a variety of acids, such as malic acid, citric acid, succinic acid, etc., which can promote the secretion of bile and gastric juice, help break down grease, and is especially effective against animal fat.

Diuretic and dampness-eliminating drugs: such as Alisma orientalis, Poria cocos, Plantago seed, etc., have the function of diuresis and can help expel excess water from the body. After taking it, it can increase urine output, relieve dampness and heat, and eliminate edema.

Laxatives: such as rhubarb, senna leaves, Polygonum multiflorum, etc., which can enhance intestinal peristalsis and promote bowel movements. Rhubarb contains rhubarb derivatives such as rhubarb, which are bitter and cold in nature. They can attack dry and constipated stool and have strong medicinal properties. Polygonum multiflorum can moisten the intestines and have a mild laxative effect. It has a greasy and stagnant nature, making people feel full.

Lipid-lowering drugs: such as Salvia miltiorrhiza, Cassia tora, Viscum album, Millettia reticulata, etc. Salvia miltiorrhiza is a blood-regulating medicine that can dilate peripheral blood vessels, lower blood pressure and reduce fat. It is a tonic medicine like chicken blood.

However, the above four types of Chinese medicine for weight loss have their own advantages and disadvantages: digestive medicine is the safest, but the more you take it, the more appetizing it becomes, because after clearing the waste accumulated in the stomach and intestines, the inside is empty, and it is difficult to suppress the desire to eat a big meal. The initial use of diuretic and dehumidifying drugs is quite effective and the weight will definitely be reduced, especially for people with edema-type obesity. However, long-term use will interfere with normal metabolism, damage the spleen and kidney yin, which is not worth the cost. Laxatives are even more dangerous. Taking them for a short period of time may help reduce stomach fat by relieving constipation, but over time, the intestines may lose their elasticity and will no longer be able to function on their own, which will seriously hinder future excretion function, nutrient absorption and decomposition. Lipid-lowering drugs are relatively safe. As long as you are a person who stores excess fat and cholesterol in your body, taking them regularly can keep your blood vessels unobstructed and prevent fat globules from clogging your coronary arteries and causing serious lesions.

Although the Chinese herbal medicines introduced above are beneficial for weight loss, everyone should also understand the precautions and not take them blindly, otherwise it may lead to life-threatening situations. In fact, for friends who want to lose weight, the editor still recommends that you do it through exercise and paying attention to diet. This method is healthier and the effect is more obvious.
