The so-called body edema, also known as body swelling, is caused by a large amount of water accumulating in the gaps between our body's subcutaneous tissues due to various reasons. It should be noted that edema is not obesity. When edema occurs on the skin, obvious indentations can be seen by pressing. If edema occurs, you should actively check to find out the cause. You can also use moxibustion to regulate your body and relieve edema. The accumulation of excessive body fluid in tissue spaces or body cavities is called edema. Clinical studies have shown that moxibustion is a good way to treat edema. Key points for diagnosis: The head and face swell first, then gradually spread to the whole body, with the waist being most swollen and feeling concave when pressed. Recovery is relatively fast, with shiny skin, scanty urination, chills, fever, and limb pain. Cough and shortness of breath. Those who are more prone to wind-cold have cold body, no sweat, thin yellow tongue coating, and floating and rapid pulse. Those who suffer from wind-heat have sore throat and thin yellow tongue coating. The pulse is floating and rapid. Yin water: The soles of the feet swell first, and then gradually spread to the whole body. The swelling is severe below the waist, and it becomes concave when pressed. Recovery is slow, skin becomes dull, and urine volume becomes scanty. Those with spleen deficiency are accompanied by abdominal distension, loose stools, fatigue in the limbs, greasy white tongue coating, and weak pulse. Those with kidney deficiency also have low back pain, sore legs, cold limbs, fatigue, pale tongue with white coating, and deep, thready and weak pulse. Moxibustion treatment method: Yang water: moxibustion on Dazhui, Feishu, Sanjiaoshu and Shenshu through ginger. Moxibustion until the skin flushes. Stop when there is no foaming. For those suffering from wind-heat, it is advisable to prick Shaoshang point to cause bleeding to help dissipate heat. Yin Shui: Directly moxibustion the Shuifen, Pishu and Shenshu points without leaving scars, 7 times for each point. For those with spleen deficiency, moxibustion should be applied to Sanyinjiao; for those with kidney deficiency, moxibustion should be applied to Taixi; the degree of moxibustion is determined when the skin on the local acupoint becomes flushed and warm to the touch. In the later stages of edema, comprehensive treatment must be adopted. For secondary edema, moxibustion should be used as an auxiliary treatment method. When the condition is stable, it can be treated alone. One thing to note here is that although moxibustion can relieve edema, it may not necessarily treat the disease itself. For example, some people suffer from edema due to pericardial effusion, pleural effusion, or malnutrition. At this time, they must go to the hospital to check and find out the specific cause of the edema and actively treat the primary disease. |
