What is the medicine for hand tremor?

In daily life, we often see people with frequent hand tremors. Hand tremors refer to inadvertent movements of the hands with small amplitudes and fast speeds. Irregular shaking is mostly caused by emotional excitement. For example, in real life, you may not be able to hold the bowl while eating, or you may not be able to pour water into the guests' cups when they come to your home. If these phenomena occur, you should go to the hospital immediately for medical treatment. In daily life, you should keep a calm mind and not be too nervous.

Hand tremors can be divided into physiological tremors and pathological tremors based on symptoms.

Physiological hand tremor

The amplitude is small and the speed is fast. It mostly occurs when the machine is stationary. It is a small, fast and irregular vibration. Physiological hand tremors often occur when one is nervous, fearful, etc. Hand tremors occur when you are emotionally excited, in severe pain, or extremely tired. Once the above causes of hand tremors are eliminated, the hand tremors will disappear.

Psychological treatment for hand tremors

1. Reduce self-focus.

2. Give up control

3. Cultivate an attitude of acceptance

The occurrence of hand tremors may be a precursor to many diseases, so it is recommended to seek examination and treatment as soon as possible.

Possible diseases that may cause hand tremors :

1. Parkinson's disease. If middle-aged or elderly people experience uncontrollable shaking of one hand or foot, which is more obvious when they are still and less severe when they move, they should be alert to the possibility of Parkinson's disease. The most typical symptom of this disease is the movement of the thumb and index finger together 3 to 4 times per second, like a "pill-rolling" action. As the disease progresses, symptoms such as limb stiffness, reduced movement, and unsteady gait may appear.

2. Essential tremor. Also called familial tremor and essential tremor. The symptoms of this type of disease are exactly the opposite of Parkinson's disease. The main characteristic is that the tremor is obvious when the limbs move and is reduced or disappears when the limbs are still. There are similar patients in the family, and some people's tremors are relieved after drinking a small amount of alcohol.

3. Hyperthyroidism. Hyperthyroidism is also a common cause of limb tremors. If hand tremors are accompanied by symptoms such as weight loss, sweating, exophthalmos, and rapid heartbeat, you should go to the hospital for timely serum thyroxine and thyroid B-ultrasound examinations.

4. Cerebellar lesions. Such patients may experience intention tremor, that is, the closer the patient is to the target object, the more obvious the tremor. In addition, symptoms of ataxia such as nystagmus, speech changes, and unsteady standing and walking may also occur.

5. Psychogenic tremor. This type of limb tremor is more common in middle-aged and elderly women. Its most notable feature is paroxysmal shaking, which is especially common after being stimulated by adverse life events and is relieved when the emotions calm down. Organic lesions need to be excluded before diagnosing this disease.
