Why do we have dandruff?

Why do we have dandruff?

Dandruff is a common word in our lives, and I believe everyone is familiar with it. Many friends who love dressing up often have various hairstyles, but they cannot avoid dandruff adhering to their hair and affecting their appearance. There are a wide variety of anti-dandruff products on the market, the most common of which are various anti-dandruff shampoos. How does dandruff occur and why does it occur?

1. Causes of dandruff

Microorganisms are one of the main causes of dandruff, and it is currently believed that the main cause is Pityrosporum ovale. This is one of the normal flora of the human body. It parasitizes on the human epidermis. It feeds on sebum and can excrete irritating by-products, accelerating cell growth and replacement. Under the influence of certain factors, Pityrosporum fungi transforms from a saprophytic yeast type to a pathogenic hyphae type, which will cause an inflammatory response. If it occurs on the scalp, it will cause excessive dandruff and itching, and scales can be seen on the scalp, which is slightly greasy. In addition, mental stress and unbalanced nutrition can also contribute to the formation of dandruff to varying degrees.

Middle-aged and young people have more dandruff, while children and the elderly have less. This is because middle-aged and young people are in the most vigorous period of their lives. They are busy with work, have great mental stress, and their normal work and rest schedule and diet are often affected by work. In addition, environmental pollution will increase dandruff.

2. Prevention and treatment of dandruff

To reduce the occurrence of dandruff, the best way is to develop good living habits and change the growth environment of the scalp to make it unfavorable for the growth of microorganisms. Changing abnormal work and rest habits, staying up late less, eating a light diet, eating less or no irritating food, keeping bowel movements smooth, and reducing stress are also effective methods.

Correct hair care In daily life, some people, for the sake of temporary comfort, scratch their hair at random regardless of the length of their nails, and they scratch the itchy scalp with extra force. Not only that, some people also like to rinse with hot water. Although this may feel comfortable for a while, it will cause more and more dandruff.

Massage therapy can improve blood circulation in the head, restore metabolism to normal, and at the same time enable the accessory organs of the scalp to function normally, gradually reducing dandruff and achieving the purpose of healing. The method is: the patient sits down and uses bilateral or unilateral fingers and palms to rotate and massage from the hairline of the forehead to the occipital region, doing it back and forth 20-30 times, until the scalp feels warm; put the four fingers of one hand (index finger, middle finger, ring finger, and little finger) together and bend them to 90 degrees, and gently tap from the hairline to the back, so that the head feels relaxed, do it back and forth 5-10 times.

Now that we understand the causes of dandruff and pay more attention to it in our lives according to our own circumstances, we will naturally reduce the troubles caused by dandruff. You can also choose some anti-dandruff shampoos that suit you, or take oral vitamins as prescribed by your doctor to reduce dandruff. I believe that it won’t be long before your hair will be free of dandruff.
