What to do if a boil bursts

Boils are acute suppurative infections caused by bacteria invading the hair follicles of the skin. This is a very common phenomenon that occurs to almost everyone, but the severity and duration of boils are different, so the symptoms vary from person to person, and are often more severe in the summer because the human body's metabolism is faster and more sweat and other secretions appear.

Furuncle is an acute, suppurative local infection caused by bacteria invading the hair follicles and surrounding sebaceous glands of the skin. Boils are a common phenomenon that we often encounter in life. Almost everyone has experienced them, but the differences are the severity of the boils and the duration of the boils.

Boils usually occur in summer, or persist all year round and worsen in summer. Because the bacteria reproduce relatively faster in summer, and the human body's metabolism is also faster in summer, and more sweat and other secretions will appear. At this time, if the skin is not cleaned in time, boils may occur.

Furuncles usually occur in high-risk areas such as the face, neck, chest and back. Furuncles often occur in adolescents, especially chronic ones.

The clinical morphology of furuncle is related to the length of time that furuncle occurs. In the initial stage of the boil, the local area will be red, swollen and painful, and the local hair follicles will be plump. Then the redness and swelling will further expand, and the local pulsation will also be obvious. Finally, an abscess may form. If not treated in time, the boil abscess may rupture and flow, at which time the pain will be relieved.

If the boils are more serious and multiple, the patient will also have systemic symptoms, such as chills and fever, laboratory tests of white blood cell counts and increased neutrophil counts and other clinical manifestations.

Since boils are caused by infection of skin hair follicles and surrounding tissues deep inside the hair follicles, once boils appear, you should pay attention to regular skin hygiene, reduce the increase in the production of oily substances in the skin, and remove the oil secretions of the skin in time. If it is a skin injury, be sure to clean the local wound in time.
