Chickenpox is an acute disease caused by varicella-zoster virus infection. It is highly contagious and is mainly transmitted through saliva and direct contact. The main symptom is a characteristic systemic rash. The appearance of chickenpox is similar to the rash, but if you look closely, you will find that there are some small watery bumps inside, which may break and spread to each other. If chickenpox becomes purulent, pay attention to maintaining local hygiene and receive anti-infection treatment in a timely manner. Chickenpox is an acute infectious disease caused by varicella-zoster virus infection. It is highly contagious and is mainly transmitted through respiratory droplets and direct contact. The main clinical manifestation is a characteristic systemic rash, which first appears on the trunk and head. In the early stage, it is a red macules, which then turns into herpes with a red halo around it. The herpes wall is relatively thin and easy to rupture. Since the herpes area is accompanied by itching, most patients will scratch it, especially children or infants, which is more likely to cause local infection and lead to purulent changes. When chickenpox becomes purulent, you should first pay attention to keeping the local skin clean and avoid scratching, which will worsen the infection. Most cases will lead to secondary bacterial infection, which will manifest as local itching or even pain. If the herpes has not broken, you can use calamine lotion or some antibiotic ointments topically. Once the herpes has broken, you can apply gentian violet or antibiotic ointment. At the same time, consider oral antibiotics, such as erythromycin or third-generation cephalosporin antibiotics, for anti-infection treatment. Avoid local squeezing. Severe scratching and damage will lead to scar formation and even the spread of infection. At the same time, actively treat the primary disease. Most chickenpox have a good prognosis and no scars are left after the scabs fall off. However, some cases may present with hemorrhagic varicella, which requires close monitoring and adequate attention. The systemic symptoms are relatively severe, with petechiae and ecchymoses on the skin and mucous membranes and internal bleeding. Some cases even develop gangrenous varicella caused by secondary bacterial infection, resulting in large areas of skin necrosis and death due to sepsis. Clinically, close monitoring and timely treatment are required. |
