Physiologically speaking, menopause is a transitional period in which a woman's ovarian function gradually declines from a vigorous state to complete disappearance; during menopause, women may experience a series of physiological and psychological changes.

The main symptoms include chest tightness and shortness of breath, menstrual changes, facial flushing, palpitations, insomnia, fatigue, depression, worry, emotional instability, irritability, and difficulty concentrating.

TCM menopause conditioning methods:

Dingjing Decoction

[Composition] 30g each of Cuscuta australis, white peony root, and Chinese angelica, 15g each of Rehmannia glutinosa and yam, 10g of white Poria cocos, 6g of black mustard spike, and 3g of Bupleurum.

[Usage] Decoction in water, 1 dose per day.

【Main indications】Menopausal syndrome.

Guipi Longmu Decoction

[Composition] 20g of roasted Astragalus, 10g of Atractylodes, 10g of Codonopsis, 12g of Angelica, 10g of Poria, 6g of Polygala, 20g of stir-fried Ziziphus jujuba seeds, 6g of costusroot, 6g of roasted Licorice, 15g each of calcined Dragon and Oyster (fried first), 10g of White Peony Root, 3g of Ginger, and 7 red dates.

[Usage] Take 1 dose of decoction daily. For those with red face, add 10 grams of Rehmannia root bark or 10 grams of Cortex Moutan; for those with unstable emotions and easy excitement, add 30 grams of Huai wheat; for those with edema, add 6 grams of Poria peel.

【Main indications】Menopausal syndrome.

Ganmai Dazao Xiaoyao Decoction

[Composition] 10 grams each of bupleurum, curcuma, white peony root, angelica, polygala, pine nuts, rehmannia, and roasted licorice.

[Usage] Take 1 dose daily, decocted in water.
