How to treat hemiplegia caused by hypertension? Two methods can help you cure it

The symptom of hemiplegia is very common in many people. Among them, hemiplegia is the most common sequelae of hypertension. So, how to treat hypertensive hemiplegia?

1. Massage and passive exercise

For patients who are bedridden in the early stages, their family members will massage their paralyzed limbs to prevent muscle atrophy, and perform passive exercises such as flexion and extension of the knees, elbows, and fingers on large and small joints to avoid joint stiffness. Patients who are able to move a little can sit on a stool with the help of others and do activities such as leg raising, knee extension and standing with support to prevent cardiovascular dysfunction.

2. Gradually start walking and do upper limb exercises

You can often stand with support, move your body to the left and right, squat and other activities; you can also step on the spot, lift your legs alternately, move to the left and right by holding the edge of the table or bed, and walk forward with one hand holding someone and the other holding a crutch. When exercising, you should intentionally put weight on the affected limb, but be careful to gradually increase the amount of activity and manage the time so as not to over-fatigue yourself. At the same time, you can do exercises such as raising, elevating, and lifting the affected upper limb to improve blood circulation and eliminate edema. You can actively flex and extend your arm, wrist, and close and spread your fingers while lying flat on the bed, and grab a ping-pong ball or a small iron ball with your hand.
