(2) Drainage by catheterization or hanging wires For high-position fistulas or complex fistulas with multiple tracts, surgery is not an option. However, in order to prevent the condition from getting worse or spreading, a drainage tube or drainage strip can be placed in the fistula tract and flushed with drugs every day. Although this cannot cure the condition, it can control the condition.
