What are the precautions for post-radiotherapy care of brain tumors?

"Brain tumor" is medically known as intracranial tumor. It is a multiple disease and the most common disease in neurosurgery. Most of them are intracranial tumors arising from intracranial tissue. Clinically, there are more male patients than female patients with intracranial tumors. So what should we pay attention to in postoperative care after radiotherapy for brain tumors?

Postoperative Care

(1) After being discharged from the hospital, patients with brain tumors should pay attention to the warmth of the family environment and maintain the patient's mental health. Family members should give them wholehearted care and attention so that the patient can feel the warmth of the family and increase their desire to survive.

(2) Pay attention to providing high-protein, high-nutrition and easily digestible diets. According to the different treatment periods of patients, adjust the diet to suit the patient's taste, provide foods that are beneficial to nutrition and recovery, and enhance the patient's physical fitness. Eating more vegetables and fruits can promote intestinal peristalsis and facilitate the excretion of toxins in the body.

(3) Appropriate work: Depending on the degree of recovery from illness, one can take part in some work within one’s ability, keep a good mood, and realize one’s own value from work, but one must pay attention to the combination of work and rest. As a patient suffering from hemiplegia caused by an advanced brain tumor, she needs to undergo damaging treatments such as surgery, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy. She suffers a great blow both psychologically and physically. She finds it difficult to accept the changes in her personality, abilities, and roles. She needs the support and encouragement of her family. Good family support plays a vital role in recovery from illness. In addition, patients should use Chinese medicine to regulate their bodies, recover health faster, and control the recurrence of brain tumors.
