Traditional Chinese Medicine is the most traditional form of medicine in my country. It can diagnose and treat diseases. It has developed over many years and has accumulated a wealth of experience. It is a unique form of medicine in my country. Traditional Chinese medicine treatment includes many methods, such as Chinese medicine treatment, acupuncture, manipulation, cupping, etc., which have good therapeutic effects on most diseases and mainly focus on regulating the body. So, what does the cold and cool school of traditional Chinese medicine refer to? Founder of the Cold School He is from Hejian County, Hebei Province. Although he was knowledgeable and talented, he did not want to be an official. He was willing to relieve the suffering of the people and engage in medical research. He began to study "Su Wen" at the age of 25 and never stopped until he was 60. He put forward insightful views on the theory of luck and wrote books such as "Su Wen Xuan Ji Origin of Disease Patterns", "Su Wen Disease Mechanism and Qi to Protect Life", "Collection of Heart Methods of Typhoid Fever", "Three Consumption Theory", "Secret to Protect Children", "Su Wen Yao Zhu", and "Liu Hejian Medicine". Liu Wansu had a profound study on the theory of the Five Movements and Six Qi in the Yellow Emperor's Classic of Internal Medicine, so the theory of luck occupies a very important position in his academic thought. He once proposed the conclusion that "the energy of the body rises and falls with the four seasons, five movements and six qi, and there is no opposite." He acknowledged that luck governs the normal rules of the four seasons, and realized that luck is constant and changeable. He pointed out that the study of luck theory should focus on the influence of wind, cold, heat, dampness, dryness and fire on the occurrence and development of diseases, and created the Five Elements and Six Qi as a disease classification program. Use the theory of Qi hyperactivity and harm control in the Yellow Emperor's Classic of Internal Medicine to analyze the nature and phenomena of pathological changes. He believed that the study of the Five Elements and Six Qi was intended to solve practical medical problems, and opposed the mechanical application of the theory of luck, which fixed the saying that a certain disease would inevitably occur in a year dominated by a certain qi. It has been repeatedly emphasized that among the five elements, four of them are independent, but only fire is the dominant element and there are two of them; among the six elements, the four have different natures, but only heat and fire are combined into one, so fire and heat occupy a dominant position in the movement of energy. His explanation of the constant changes of luck combined with clinical practice is more relevant to medical practice than general explanations of luck. Cold School-Characteristics Liu Wansu is well-known in academia for his advocacy of the "fire theory". Through long-term study of the "Inner Canon of Medicine", he believed that the 19 pathogenesis articles in the "Su Wen" were mostly diseases caused by heat. He explained that all pains, itches and sores belong to the heart; all fistulas, wheezing and vomiting belong to the upper part; all dizziness and vertigo belong to the liver; all sudden stiffness and stiffness belong to wind, and all of them indirectly belong to the scope of heat. Therefore, he started from clinical practice, advocated the pathogenesis of heat and fire, and proposed a set of methods for treating heat and fire diseases from both internal and external aspects; according to people's physique and the epidemic characteristics of febrile diseases, he summarized the treatment experience, opposed the application of ancient prescriptions, and strongly rejected the bias of using dry and hot medicines. He was good at using cold and cool medicines, with very good results, which greatly inspired the treatment of febrile diseases in later generations. At the same time, he broke through the conservative medical atmosphere since the Wei and Jin Dynasties, and was called the representative of the "Cold and Cool School" by later generations. But it does not mean that Liu Wansu only knows about coldness and nothing else. Regarding this point, he specifically mentioned in "Three Consumption Theory": "It is not necessary for the kidney water to bear the cold alone and the heart fire to bear the heat alone." It is clearly pointed out that there is yang in yin and yin in yang. In clinical practice, it is necessary to distinguish the amounts of water and fire and treat the disease based on syndrome differentiation. Cold School - Achievements Later masters include Wu Youke, Ye Tianshi, Wu Jutong, Xue Yipiao, Wang Mengying, etc. Works: Treatise on Warm Diseases, Clinical Guide to Medical Cases, Treatise on Plague, etc. Famous prescriptions: Yinqiao Powder, Sangju Drink, etc. In short, Chinese medicine has been developed for several years and has had a large amount of clinical practice. The application of various Chinese medicines in the treatment of diseases has provided effective guarantees for people's health. Many people believe that traditional Chinese medicine is out of date and has been defeated by Western medicine. This view is completely wrong. At least in our country, traditional Chinese medicine is still a very good treatment method, comparable to Western medicine. |
