How dopamine is secreted

We all know that dopamine is a hormone secreted by the body. It is a substance secreted when you see someone you like. We all know that the secretion of dopamine is closely related to our psychological factors, and the amount of dopamine secretion is related to food. We can promote the body to secrete more dopamine by eating some foods containing tyrosine.

1. Eat foods rich in tyrosine. The body needs tyrosine to produce dopamine. Tyrosine is an amino acid that, when it enters the body, is sent to the brain. Neurons responsible for secreting dopamine convert tyrosine into dopamine with the help of other enzymes.

Foods highest in tyrosine include cheese, fish, meat, seeds, grains, dairy products, beans and soy.

As long as you get enough protein in your diet, you should be getting enough tyrosine. The Institute of Medicine recommends a daily protein intake of 0.8 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight. For example, if you weigh 68 kg, you need 54 grams of protein.

For example, 120 ml of cottage cheese contains 14 grams of protein, and a palm-sized portion of chicken has about 19 grams of protein.

2 Eat high-protein foods to get the daily requirement of phenylalanine. Some tyrosine is converted from phenylalanine, so eating foods rich in phenylalanine can ensure that the body has sufficient tyrosine, thereby increasing dopamine. Meat, cheese and wheat germ are all rich in phenylalanine. Artificial sweeteners also contain this amino acid. [5]

You should take at least 5 grams of phenylalanine per day, but no more than 8 grams. Many types of cheese contain about 1 gram of phenylalanine per 85 grams.

3. Take caffeine. This is the main way to help the body use more dopamine. Although caffeine cannot increase the amount of dopamine secretion, it can allow more receptors to use the dopamine secreted by the body. [6]

Try to limit your intake or consumption to no more than 300 mg of caffeine per day. An average cup of coffee contains about 100 grams of caffeine.

Keep in mind that caffeine is usually excreted from the body about 6 hours after consumption, after which you may begin to feel depressed and tired. Therefore, try not to rely too much on caffeine to boost your mood. [7]
