White discharge from the nipple

White discharge from the nipple

The presence of white secretions on the nipples is mainly caused by inflammation, but it may also be caused by milk leakage. It is recommended that everyone should be aware of the cause of the disease. When there is white secretion on the nipple, we should pay attention to the hygiene of the nipple and be clear that it is not the time for milk overflow, especially inflammation. It should be treated in time to avoid breast diseases. Milk overflow mainly occurs during lactation.

What is the cause of white discharge from the nipple?

1. Generally, you can wash it with clean water and remove the dirt with your hands. Are you talking about dirt, lotion, or bloody secretions? There is a difference. Be alert to the occurrence of breast diseases.

2. The white secretion on the nipple can be dug out and then wiped with erythromycin ointment.

3. When the nipple is sunken, the fatty substances secreted by the areola glands can be retained in the sunken nipple. Squeezing can expel the white paste with a foul odor. This is not true nipple discharge.

4. Under normal circumstances, in the middle and late stages of pregnancy, as the breasts begin to secrete a small amount of milk, white secretions can be seen on the surface of the nipples. If there is no other discomfort, you can observe temporarily and keep the nipple area clean.

What is the cause of white discharge from the nipple?

1. Nipple discharge is a common symptom of breast disease. The secretion of milk by women during the non-lactation period is called galactorrhea. This phenomenon may occur in both unmarried women and married women who have given birth.

2. It manifests as a small amount of natural overflow or squeezing out of the nipples on both sides, which is milky white or pure clear without blood. It may also manifest as unilateral nipple, and it has nothing to do with the size of the breast.

3. The reason for galactorrhea is excessive secretion of prolactin in the body. The causes of high prolactin are very complex and include two categories: physiological and pathological.

4. During the period of not breastfeeding, the nipples should be dry and without secretions. If you have secretions now, it may be due to local inflammation of the nipples or abnormal secretions caused by hormonal metabolism disorders.

If the above situation occurs, please go to the gynecology department for examination in time, follow the doctor's advice to take medication, pay attention to good hygiene, and pay attention to the rationality of diet. At the same time, you need to do regular examinations to determine the specific situation.
