Symptoms of gastric fundus erosion, beware of gastric ulcer

If gastric erosion is not treated in time, it is very likely to develop into gastric ulcer. For patients with gastric erosion, they should adhere to certain principles in their daily diet, avoid high-fat foods, have a regular diet, eat more high-fiber foods, and quit smoking and drinking.

1. Symptoms

Gastric erosion is different from gastric ulcer. Gastric ulcer penetrates the muscularis mucosa and inevitably leaves a fibrous scar after healing. The surface is covered by a layer of epithelium, and the muscularis mucosa cannot regenerate. Gastric erosions are defined as those that do not penetrate the muscularis mucosa and therefore heal without leaving any trace.

Strictly speaking, gastric erosion refers to shallow ulcers limited to the gastric mucosa. Its depth does not exceed the muscularis mucosa, and some people consider it to be the early stage or pre-stage of gastric ulcer. (It should be noted that not all gastric erosions will develop into gastric ulcers. Gastric erosions that cause upper gastrointestinal bleeding are generally called acute erosive gastritis, and some people call it hemorrhagic gastritis, or acute gastric mucosal lesions. Sometimes the duodenal mucosa can also erode and cause bleeding.)

2. Dietary principles

1. Avoid high-fat foods. High-fat foods, alcohol, sugar, and chocolate can relax the sphincter and cause reflux, so if you have symptoms of heartburn, you should avoid these foods.

2. Regular eating habits. Do not eat one meal and skip the next. Be sure to remember to eat breakfast. Otherwise, the stomach will be empty, and the peristalsis of the stomach will cause certain damage to the gastric mucosa. Have used some light food, be sure not to overeat. It is better to eat slowly: chewing slowly can reduce the irritation of rough food to the gastric mucosa.

3. Increase fiber intake and eat fiber-containing foods. Fiber is considered an anti-cancer ingredient, and eating a high-fiber diet can also reduce the chance of duodenal ulcers. Fiber is thought to promote the secretion of mucin, which protects the duodenal mucosa.

4. Avoid drinking strong tea, coffee, alcohol, etc.; eat less food that easily causes bloating, such as potatoes, sweet potatoes, onions, boiled soybeans, etc.

5. Raw or cold food and drinks that are too cold can easily cause stomach cramps, which is not conducive to alleviating the condition; overheated or overheated food and drinks can directly burn or irritate the gastric mucosa after consumption.

6. Quit smoking. Smoking can trigger stomach pain. After smoking, nicotine can stimulate the gastric mucosa and cause increased gastric acid secretion, which has a harmful stimulating effect on the gastric mucosa. Excessive smoking leads to pyloric sphincter dysfunction, causing bile reflux, damaging the gastric mucosa, and affecting the blood supply to the gastric mucosa and the repair and regeneration of gastric mucosal cells, so it is necessary to quit smoking.
