Babies have poor resistance and their organs are still developing, so it is understandable that they are susceptible to diseases. So what are the diseases that cause babies to vomit and have fever in summer? 1. Intussusception Intussusception occurs when the distal small intestine is invaginated into the lumen of the proximal small intestine. This phenomenon is most likely to occur in children under 1 year old, especially when the weather is cold. Once intussusception occurs, children will have symptoms of vomiting and low fever in addition to severe abdominal pain and crying. 2. Hernia Because the abdominal wall muscles of young babies are very weak, crying too much will cause the tissue in the abdominal cavity to protrude from the navel to the abdominal wall, forming an umbilical hernia; or it can descend from the groin of a male baby to the scrotum, forming an inguinal hernia. Once the intestine is embedded in the hernia sac, the child will experience severe abdominal pain, cry, and vomit. 3. Gastric pyloric stenosis The most common congenital disease accompanied by vomiting symptoms is pyloric stenosis. A small number of infants are born with hypertrophy of the pyloric circular muscle, which leads to narrowing of the pyloric lumen. As the baby's food intake increases, a large amount of chyme accumulates in the stomach and has difficulty entering the intestines, causing the child to vomit in a projectile manner after eating. Vomiting usually occurs about 1 month after birth. 4. Gastroenteritis The main symptoms of gastroenteritis are nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, etc., sometimes accompanied by fever. It can be caused by many reasons, such as improper diet, eating unclean food, respiratory virus infection, etc. 5. Upper respiratory tract infection When children are infected by respiratory viruses, they not only develop a series of symptoms of respiratory infection, but also vomit. When children with weak constitutions are infected by viruses, their resistance will decrease, including the resistance of the gastrointestinal tract. Coupled with the stimulation of viral toxins, vomiting occurs. 6. Otitis media Because children's Eustachian tube leading to the middle ear is short and straight, and they spend more time lying down, the virus can easily enter the middle ear through this channel when they have an upper respiratory tract infection, causing otitis media. You should know that the ear is not only an organ of hearing, but also related to the body's balance function. When the middle ear becomes inflamed, it can cause vomiting. |
