Causes of rhinitis

Rhinitis is a common disease. We know that no matter what type of disease it is, it has its own unique causes and symptoms. Only by correctly understanding the causes of rhinitis can we develop targeted treatments, and symptoms can effectively determine whether you have this disease. But the only way to restore your health is to get treatment.

No matter what type of disease it is, it has the same characteristic that it will affect the patient's life. Therefore, solving the disease is the only way to improve it, and it can also restore the body to a healthy state. Health is our only goal, and only a healthy body can function normally. So what causes rhinitis?

There are three types of commonly used nasal drops (mostly vasoconstrictors): one is cyclic amines, such as ephedrine; the second is chain amines, such as fluramine; and the third is imidazoles, such as Dibijing (also known as Biyanjing). Abuse and long-term use of the above-mentioned drugs, especially the third one, will cause contraction of the capillaries, tiny arteries and veins under the epithelium of the nasal mucosa. If the vasoconstriction is severe and persistent, it may cause hypoxia of the blood vessel wall and cause secondary nasal vasodilation. Moreover, the nasal mucosa becomes less and less sensitive to the drug, so the dosage and frequency of use will inevitably increase, which will lead to a vicious cycle. Severe cases may lead to addiction and inability to get rid of the drug, causing more serious nasal congestion and serious damage to the nasal mucosa. Complications of drug-induced rhinitis include atrophic rhinitis, nasal polyps, sinusitis, otitis media and right heart failure in neonates. In addition, it may also cause hypertension, subarachnoid hemorrhage, rupture of intracranial arterioles, cerebral vasospasm, mental disorders and poisoning reactions.

The harm caused by improper use of vasoconstrictors has long been taken seriously abroad and a lot of research has been conducted. Unfortunately, this problem has not yet attracted widespread attention in China. Similar patients are often encountered in clinical practice, and they mistakenly believe that their "rhinitis" is more stubborn and has not been cured after repeated treatments. They never think that it is caused by improper use of medication.

The above introduces the causes of rhinitis. Only by correctly grasping the causal elements can we develop a corresponding treatment plan, because the only way to recover from the disease is to seek treatment. The treatment method must be suitable for the patient, because each patient's physical constitution and symptoms are different, and targeted treatment is required.
