What are the acupuncture points on both sides of the belly button

Speaking of acupoints, I believe everyone is familiar with them. In the martial arts TV dramas people watch, there are martial arts that can make people unable to move by pressing acupoints. I believe everyone has been fascinated by this for a long time. Nowadays, it is very common in traditional Chinese medicine to use massage and acupuncture on some acupoints to treat diseases. There are many acupoints in the human body, and there are acupoints on both sides of the navel. Here we will introduce the acupoints on both sides of the navel.

There is a Tianshu point two inches on both sides of the navel. It is mainly used to treat abdominal distension, intestinal rumbling, constipation, diarrhea, dysentery, irregular menstruation, etc.

The navel is called "Shenque Point" in traditional Chinese medicine, which is also an acupuncture point. This acupuncture point is the only visible and tangible acupuncture point on our body. Pressing and rubbing the navel can help digestion and absorption, strengthen the brain and nourish the kidneys. At the same time, the shape of the navel can also reflect the health of the body.

The navel, located in the depression in the center of the abdomen, is the vital root tissue left after the umbilical cord of a newborn falls off. It is an important acupuncture point of the Ren meridian in the traditional Chinese medicine meridian system - Shenque point. Shenque point is the only visible and tangible acupuncture point among the 361 acupuncture points in the body. There are two main interpretations of the meaning of the name Shenque acupoint: one is that it refers to the place where the spirit resides, that is, where the vitality is; the other is that it refers to the gateway through which the spirit passes in and out, which is the channel for the fetus to obtain nutrition from the mother and maintain the fetus's vital activities.

The human body's innate endowment is closely related to this acupuncture point. The ancients said that "the navel is the basis of the five internal organs and six bowels" and "the root of vital energy returning to the internal organs." The skin of the navel is thin and sunken, with no subcutaneous fat tissue. The skin is directly connected to the fascia and peritoneum, making it easily invaded by cold evil, but it is also easy to warm and nourish. Therefore, Shenque point has always been an important point for health preservation.

Warming the navel can boost the body's yang energy. The Shenque point is close to the stomach, liver, gallbladder, pancreas, intestines and other organs. By warming the Shenque point, it can also treat abdominal pain, diarrhea, acute and chronic stomach pain, gastroptosis, stubborn hiccups, functional dyspepsia, colitis, rectal prolapse and other diseases.

Navel care measures:

1. Keep your navel warm

The belly button is the place most afraid of catching cold. The navel is different from other parts of the abdomen. There is no muscle or fat tissue below the navel, but it is rich in blood vessels. As the final closure of the abdominal wall, the skin is thinner and more sensitive, and has the characteristics of strong permeability and fast absorption. Due to its poor barrier function and being a relatively weak part of the human body, it is easy to catch cold and develop a cold.

Pay special attention to keeping the navel warm when sleeping to avoid diarrhea or colds. Especially for young women, especially those during menstruation, their blood vessels are in a state of congestion. Wearing belly-exposing clothes is most likely to cause pelvic blood vessels to contract due to cold, resulting in menstrual blood flow disorders. Over time, it can cause dysmenorrhea, prolonged menstruation, irregular menstruation, etc.

2. Massage your navel

Massaging the navel can promote gastrointestinal motility, help digestion and absorption, regulate loose stools and relieve constipation. Method: Lie on your back with your legs bent. First, press the palm of your right hand on your navel. Place your left palm on the back of your right hand and gently massage in a clockwise direction for 36 circles. Then, press the left palm on the navel, place the right palm on the back of the left palm, and gently massage counterclockwise for 36 circles.

Every night before going to bed on an empty stomach, rub your hands together to warm them up, place your palms together with the left lower and the right upper, and place them on your navel. Rub them counterclockwise with small movements, 20 to 30 circles each time. This can also help warm the Shenque point.
