Cerebral palsy is a common congenital disease. There are many causes of cerebral palsy. The symptoms vary according to the age of the baby. So what are the symptoms of cerebral palsy in a ten-month-old baby? (1 month): Body weakness and decreased spontaneous movements: These are symptoms of hypotonia and can be seen at one month. If it lasts for more than 4 months, it may be diagnosed as severe brain damage, mental retardation and muscle system disease. Fixed posture: It is often caused by abnormal muscle tone due to brain damage, such as opisthotonos, frog position, inverted U-shaped posture, etc. It can be seen one month after birth. Abnormal head circumference: Brain damage is often accompanied by abnormal head circumference. (2-4 months): poor weight gain, weak breastfeeding; no smiling: unable to smile at 2 months, unable to laugh at 4 months; clenched fists: if they cannot open at 4 months, or the thumb is adducted, especially on one upper limb, it has important diagnostic significance; body twisting: if a baby of 3-4 months has body twisting, it often indicates extrapyramidal system damage. Head instability: Inability to lift the head while lying prone or to hold the head upright while sitting at 4 months old is often an important sign of brain damage. Strabismus: Strabismus and poor eye movements in infants aged 3-4 months may indicate the presence of brain damage. Unable to reach out and grasp objects: If the child is unable to reach out and grasp objects at 4-5 months, it can be diagnosed as mental retardation or cerebral palsy. Unable to turn over: Unable to turn over at about 3 months. (5-6 months): Staring at hands: If the problem persists after 6 months, it may be considered as mental retardation. Slow reaction and no response when the name is called: These are early signs of mental retardation. It is generally believed that slow reaction at 4 months and no response when the name is called at 6 months can be diagnosed as mental retardation. (7-12 months): For those with mild brain damage, the symptoms are often not very obvious in the first half of the year, but there are abnormal symptoms in the second half of the baby's life: 1. If the baby is unable to turn over after 6 months, it has diagnostic significance. 2. Do not use the lower limbs for 6-7 months and do not use the lower limbs to support body weight for a short period of time. 3. Babies aged 7-10 months do not need to use one hand to play. 4. Clumsy hands and inflexible and uncoordinated fine motor skills, such as pinching small objects, unbuttoning buttons, and tying belts, are diagnostically significant if they appear at 7-10 months. 5. Cannot sit alone. Cannot sit alone after 7 months. 6. Cannot catch the station for 10 months. 7. Not seeing people again for 10 months is diagnostic. 8.Standing on tiptoes. Still standing on tiptoes at 10 months old. 9. Unable to walk. The baby still cannot walk after 13-15 months. 10. Drooling and thumb sucking are of diagnostic value after 12 months. |
