Stones, also known as stone disease, are mainly composed of inorganic salts or organic matter and can appear in multiple parts of the body. Common types include kidney stones, gallstones, and urinary stones. The symptoms of stones vary depending on where they appear and whether there are complications, but in general, pain is a common symptom of stone diseases, and sometimes the pain is unbearable. So, what are some tips for relieving pain from stones? 1. Acupressure combined with hot compress to relieve pain Ask the patient to take off his clothes, lie prone, and press the three acupoints of Liver, Gallbladder, and Spleen with his thumb or palm. If the colic still persists after pressing in this way, you can use a steamed or boiled towel to apply hot compress to the Qimen point under the right breast and the epigastric area under the xiphoid process (heart), and the pain will stop. 2. Press Hegu acupoint to relieve pain Ask the patient to lie on his left side with his right hand stretched out and raised toward his head. The therapist stands in front of the top of the patient's head and holds the patient's right elbow with his left hand while pulling the patient's right hand upwards. After pausing for a while, he pushes the Hegu point in the opposite direction (towards the liver). Repeat this process slowly three times and the colic will disappear. 3. Press acupoints to relieve pain Commonly used acupoints include: Yanglingquan (the depression in front and below the head of the fibula on the outer side of the calf when the knee is bent at a right angle); Qiuxu (the depression in front and below the outer ankle); Taichong (on the dorsum of the foot, use your fingers to move upward along the gap between the toes and the second toe, and this is the point where you can feel the blood vessel pulsation); Qimen (located two ribs directly below the nipple of the chest, that is, between the 6th and 7th intercostal spaces). Massage method: Press the acupoints with the tip of your thumb with a little more force. Press and rub each acupoint for 1-2 minutes until a sore and swollen feeling appears at the acupoint. 4. Press the ear points to relieve pain Pinch the ear with your thumb and index finger. Rub the painful area with a little force for 5-10 minutes and the pain will be effectively relieved. 5. Burning Xiaxi acupoint with cigarettes to relieve pain The Xiaxi point is located at a tender spot on the dorsum of the foot between the 4th and 5th toes. Light a cigarette and burn this acupuncture point (be careful not to get too close so as not to hurt the skin). The length of roasting time depends on the patient's response. If it doesn't feel hot when you start baking, bake until it feels hot. If you feel the heat at the beginning, roast it until you no longer feel the heat, and the pain will be relieved. 6. Massage the abdomen to relieve pain Lie on your back or sit up, place your right hand against the right upper abdomen, and use your forearm and wrist to perform continuous and rhythmic massage in a clockwise direction. Apply force and massage evenly. Massage 80 to 100 times per minute on average. The massage time is about 15 minutes. Stop when the abdominal pain is relieved. |
