What does infraspinatus pain feel like?

Muscle problems are relatively common in modern life. This problem has caused great distress to people's lives and caused many patients to experience severe muscle pain. For example, infraspinatus pain is a very painful feeling that can cause great damage to the patient's life. Most people don't know much about this kind of muscle pain. Let's take a look at what infraspinatus pain is like.

Injury to the infraspinatus muscle is common, and the injury usually occurs at the starting point. The pain in the chronic stage is very severe, and patients often complain of piercing pain under the scapular spine. This type of severe pain is generally ineffective, and in severe cases, injections of morphine or pethidine can only provide temporary relief. Acupuncture knife has obvious therapeutic effect on this disease.

Clinical manifestations of infraspinatus muscle injury

In the early stages of injury, there is often obvious swelling and pain in the infraspinatus fossa and greater tubercle of the humerus. If the injury is at the origin of the infraspinatus muscle, there will often be a piercing pain in the infraspinatus fossa. The upper limb movement is limited, and accidentally moving the affected upper limb may sometimes cause spasmodic pain in the infraspinatus muscle. Chronic infraspinatus fossa causes pain and numbness, and sometimes localized skin loss of sensation.

Pathological causes of infraspinatus muscle injury

The infraspinatus muscle is mostly injured due to sudden excessive abduction or internal rotation of the upper limb. The damage at the beginning is more than that at the end. In the early stage of the initial injury, there is often electric shock-like pain in the infraspinous fossa, involving the front of the acromion. Insertion injury, there is obvious pain at the greater tuberosity of the humerus, and there is often an obvious tenderness point 1 cm below the pain point. This pain point is subspinal bursitis of the infraspinatus tendon, not muscle injury. Sometimes the two pain points are blurred and difficult to separate. Most subtendinous bursae are caused by injuries and can be treated together. The reasons for the injury to the origin of the infraspinatus muscle in the chronic stage are: first, the suprascapular nerve ends at the origin of the infraspinatus muscle in the infraspinatus fossa, and has more nerve endings and is more sensitive; second, the injury to the infraspinatus muscle at its origin is often more severe. As time goes by, the scars and adhesions become more severe, and the compression of nerve endings becomes more serious.
