The general symptoms of small blisters on the hands are: multiple unilateral blisters, and may also affect both hands. The condition worsens with blisters and peeling in the summer, while in the winter, dryness, cracking and pain are obvious. Initially, it presents as blisters on the palms or between the fingers, or keratinization and desquamation of the palm skin. The blisters are often transparent like crystals and cause unbearable itching. After the blisters burst, they dry up, white flakes appear, the center heals, and herpes is triggered around them, which may extend to the back of the hand and wrist.

Although both diseases relapse or worsen in summer, if the blisters of tinea manuum are examined under a microscope, the pathogenic fungi can usually be found; however, tinea fungi will never be found in the blister membranes of dyshidrotic eczema.
