Pregnancy changes not only your life but your body as well. As your belly grows, you may feel more tired than usual and may even vomit a few times due to pregnancy reactions. Besides these there are some other enemies.

1. Farting a lot

This happens to almost every pregnant woman. This is because the rapid increase in hormones slows down gastrointestinal motility. Also, during pregnancy, your ability to control your muscles is different than before. You may be able to hold it in when you are not pregnant, but it is common to suddenly release it in front of relatives and friends when you are pregnant.

Embarrassing, right? Although this problem cannot be avoided, you can still improve your physical condition through exercise and changing your diet. "Exercise can increase gastrointestinal motility, allowing food to be digested faster," Hakaha said. "This can reduce the time that food ferments in the stomach and intestines, reducing gas production. In addition, some foods are more likely to produce gas, so try to avoid them, such as carbonated drinks, legumes, cauliflower, broccoli and preserved fruits."

Dairy products can also cause gas or upset stomach and bloating. "Many mothers drink milk during pregnancy, but their tolerance to milk decreases," said an associate professor of obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Nebraska School of Medicine. If the symptoms are obvious, the mother can try lactose-free milk or other calcium-rich foods.

2. Incontinence is an unwelcome guest

I believe you must have heard of this: a pregnant mother sneezes and pee comes out. The most embarrassing thing is that friends and colleagues are present. Most pregnant women will inadvertently leak urine even when they cough, sneeze or laugh, which is very embarrassing. Many doctors recommend using menstrual pads during the late pregnancy months when incontinence is more likely, though frequent visits to the bathroom are also a good solution.

"As the baby grows, he or she will eventually 'sit' on the bladder," Hakaha said. "You need to be mindful to remember to go to the bathroom every two hours, even if you don't feel like peeing yet, otherwise you'll leak easily."

3. Facial hair

During pregnancy, hormonal changes can cause hair to grow in unexpected places. Hair may grow on the chest, abdomen and even face, and mothers will not be so calm then. If you want to remove hair, waxing or tweezing are safer methods during pregnancy.

"Any hair remover with added chemical ingredients or cosmetic surgery should wait until after delivery," said Kim, an associate professor of obstetrics and gynecology at Alabama. "Laser during pregnancy will affect the melanin in the skin and may leave scars."

4. Body odor

During pregnancy, some mothers' sense of smell increases significantly, and some mothers may even become disgusted by the smell of food and seafood. A small number of mothers are also disgusted by their own body odor. “Sometimes you can smell your private parts, especially towards the end of pregnancy,” Kim says. “It’s probably because of the mucus. Your body odor isn’t actually getting worse, it’s just that your sense of smell is more acute.”

But be careful. If there is an unusual smell in your private parts, tell your doctor to check whether you have a Candida infection. The condition can be safely treated even during pregnancy.

5. Hemorrhoids

When it comes to hemorrhoids, it is a knot in the hearts of many mothers, and very few people are willing to share their hemorrhoid experiences.

"Nine out of ten women will develop hemorrhoids during pregnancy," says Hakaha, "due to constipation and the intestines being too tight and trying to increase peristalsis."

If you want to reduce the risk of hemorrhoids, try to avoid constipation, drink plenty of water, eat more crude fiber foods, and you can go to the pharmacy to buy some topical medications to relieve constipation. You can also consider buying dietary fiber supplements, but your stool will smell stronger after taking them, and you will have to use your nose when you go to the toilet.

If you do get sick, witch hazel pads and topical anti-inflammatory creams can provide some relief, and these are safe for pregnant women.
