How to take progesterone

Progesterone is a natural progestin secreted by the corpus luteum of the ovary. It has a morphological effect on estrogen in the body, mainly during pregnancy. Some of the necessary things in life are mainly injections, and some oral medicines, mainly some ovarian ones, which can be used during the menstrual cycle. They are mainly used for habitual abortion, dysmenorrhea, excessive menstrual bleeding, and large oral doses. They are also used for some diseases caused by progesterone deficiency.

Progesterone is mainly used for prostatic hyperplasia, sleep apnea syndrome, etc. It is mainly used to promote breast development, inhibit ovulation and diuresis. Its usage and dosage are mainly different from intramuscular injection and some oral administration. It can mainly help other diseases recover as soon as possible during the menstrual cycle.

This product can be absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract when taken orally, and the blood concentration reaches the peak after 1 to 3 hours. It is inactivated due to rapid metabolism, so it is generally administered by injection, but sublingual or vaginal or rectal administration is also effective. It is rapidly absorbed through the vaginal mucosa and reaches peak blood concentration after 2 to 6 hours. The t1/2 is only a few minutes, and the metabolites include pregnanediol and its glucuronic acid conjugate, which are excreted in the urine.

Intramuscular injection, 10-20 mg each time. (1) Habitual abortion: 10-20 mg intramuscularly once a day or 2-3 times a week until the fourth month of pregnancy. (2) Functional uterine bleeding, dysmenorrhea: Inject 5-10 mg daily 6-8 days before menstruation for a total of 4-6 days. The treatment course can be repeated several times. It can be used in combination with estrogen for dysmenorrhea caused by uterine hypoplasia. (3) Excessive menstrual bleeding and metrorrhagia: 10-20 mg intramuscularly daily, 5-7 days as a course of treatment, can be repeated 3-4 times, with an interval of 15-20 days between each course. (4) Amenorrhea: After giving estrogen for 2 to 3 weeks, immediately give this product 3 to 5 mg per day. A course of treatment is 6 to 8 days. The total dose should not exceed 300 to 350 mg. The course of treatment can be repeated 2 to 3 times. (5) Threatened abortion: 25-50 mg/d. (6) Prostatic hyperplasia: 20 mg/time, 2 times/day. Oral or vaginal administration: 100 mg once, once in the morning and once in the evening (2 hours before bedtime), for 10 consecutive days per cycle (usually on days 17 to 26 of the cycle).

The above are the common ways to take progesterone. Its usage and dosage are mainly different for intramuscular injection and some oral administration. The dosage of medication for diseases in different periods is different. It can be used during the menstrual cycle, mainly for habitual abortion, dysmenorrhea, excessive menstrual bleeding, and oral large doses are also used for some diseases caused by progesterone deficiency.
