What causes itchy skin on inner thighs?

What is the problem with itchy inner thighs? Many people have this problem. The inner thighs are private and often itchy, which is more common in men. So, what is the disease of itchy inner thighs?

1. Tinea cruris

Tinea cruris is a fungus with the same cause as athlete's foot. It usually grows at the groin and sometimes spreads to the scrotum, appearing as island-like spots with clear boundaries and distinct edges.

2. Eczema

This type of disease is mostly caused by improper treatment of tinea cruris and other diseases, and is also related to the sensitivity of the skin itself. The scrotum is a hard-hit area for eczema, and is more serious than the legs, so it is clinically called scrotal eczema.

3. Skin itching

This type is exactly the opposite of eczema. Eczema is more severe on the scrotum, and the itching is more obvious on the thighs. It is manifested as dry skin on one or both sides of the thighs, obvious pores, severe itching, and some severe cases may even cause scratching and bleeding, with obvious scratch marks.

4. Keratosis pilaris

It manifests as small bumps, commonly known as chicken skin; most of these are accompanied by similar lesions on the upper arms and face; this type of disease is prone to itching, and often leads to local skin pigmentation due to excessive scratching.

5. Pityriasis rosea

Generally, pityriasis rosea appears on the upper arms, chest, back and abdomen; but in a few people, it appears on the thighs and waist at the beginning of the disease; and this type of rash heals slowly and the color is relatively darker.
