Red corners of eyes, strong internal fire, and yellow eyelids indicate spleen deficiency

Red corners of eyes, strong internal fire, and yellow eyelids indicate spleen deficiency

People often say that eyes are windows to the soul, but in fact, eyes are also a window to the health of the entire body. The eyes can be divided into five parts: eyelid, eye corner, white of the eye, pupil and pupil. Traditional Chinese medicine has always had the theory of five wheels: the eyelids belong to the spleen, the corners of the eyes belong to the heart, the whites of the eyes belong to the lungs, the black eyeballs belong to the liver, and the pupils belong to the kidneys, like five wheels, one inside another.

Healthy eyes have distinct black and white, are bright and lively, and can see things clearly. The eyeballs move flexibly without protrusion, depression or deviation. The eyeball is of moderate hardness and softness, and the tear ducts and lacrimal glands are unobstructed. The eyelids should be a bright yellow and open and close freely. The blood vessels in the inner and outer corners of the eyes are light red, the whites of the eyes are shiny and transparent, and the color is white and tough. The pupils are dark blue or brown. The two pupils are perfect circles of equal size, and can adjust their size according to the intensity of light and expand and contract freely.
The eyelids control the spleen. If the eyelids are red, it means that there is heat in the spleen. If the eyelids are not only red but also rotten and oozing, it means damp-heat in the spleen. Pale yellow eyelids indicate spleen deficiency, while yellow and uneven eyelids indicate food accumulation. Gray and black eyelids, or dark circles, are a sign of excessive sexual activity and a lack of kidney essence. The eyes have two corners, the inner and outer corners, which contain tiny blood vessels that can reflect the functional status of the heart. For example, when the heart fire is strong, the inner and outer corners of the eyes will turn red, and at this time you should clear the heart fire. The whites of the eyes indicate blood deficiency, while yellow color means the illness will be cured. Red pin-shaped spots at the inner corners of the eyes are called "stroke spots" and may indicate high blood pressure, which is a precursor to a stroke.
Generally speaking, if the whole eye is sick, the liver should be treated, but if only the white of the eye is sick, the lungs should be treated, because the white of the eye governs the lungs. If the whites of the eyes are red, you need to clear the lung heat; if small bumps the size of a needle tip grow on the whites of the eyes, which are yellow in the middle and red around the edges, you also need to treat the lungs. Whiteness of the eyes that is too white indicates cold, wind, and weak qi and blood. If the entire white of the eye turns yellow, the first thing to consider is jaundice, which is caused by dampness in the spleen, stomach, liver and gallbladder.
The black pupil represents the liver. When the liver is not functioning well, changes in color or shape may occur on the black pupils of the eyes. Whitening around the black pupil is a sign of blood heat and blood stasis, which can be seen in patients with cardiovascular and cerebrovascular sclerosis. It is also a sign of aging, dizziness and headaches.
The pupil is controlled by the kidney. Children's pupils are darker and brighter than those of the elderly. Once there is a problem with the pupil, the kidney needs to be treated.
